  • Feel sorry for them but if we finish one place above relegation due to them having points deducted, as harsh as it sounds, I'll take it.
Did Wednesday's fans shed any tears for Charlton when their delayed points deduction sent us down?
Nope. And they enjoyed it when we went down in '99 at the Valley. Still remember that.

Didn't they take the piss out of us when we got relegated out of the old Division 1 at Selhurst, then realised that a score at another game that affected their chances of survival had been given out incorrectly and they had in fact gone down as well (or did I dream that)?

They did go down with us in 1990 but they got walloped 3 0 at home by Forest whilst Luton won at Derby and sent them down. (I remember all that clear as day but not what happened last week.)

Sheffield Wednesday must surely start the season with a points deduction.
    Only question is how many
At this point i think their fans are worried about whether they'll even be able to field a team to start the season with.
I have read they are more worried they won’t be able to afford an open top bus

Maybe it was that the announcer said that Luton had lost which meant they stayed up but in fact they'd won and went on to stay up the following week? There was definitely a furore over a score being read out incorrectly.

Just looked up the week previous. Wednesday beat us at Selhurst and Luton beat Palace with a 90th minute winner from a Mr I Dowie. I guess the result was given as 0 0 before the pretty boy's late winner.

There’s a rumour that they are in a sale negotiation. Unverified.

I thought Derby were toast and could not see how they would be saved but they survived.  Wednesday will too.  Maybe they get relegated but they are large enough they will return.
    Not large....massive!

EFL and FA have a lot to sort out this summer in the Championship.

Ideally, all clubs get their relevant punishments be it points deductions and/or proper transfer embargo. This nonsense can’t keep happening as often as it does, it just continues to make a mockery of the whole system, which is a failure for most clubs.

Football needs the independent regulator, desperately.

Thankfully, we have a current ownership group who seem to respect the club, the rules and us as a fanbase. We have our own issues, that doesn’t need to be gone into detail again, I just hope that our owners sort out that elephant in the room soon and we can fully move on.

I think we’re going to be competitive in the league this year, but I’d absolutely take any additional help from our club’s misfortune or punishments due to cheating or incompetence. It would be different if it were clubs who have really put their fans and community through it for years, none of these have. They’ve tried to cheat their way through and have a complete disrespect for everyone and everything else.

Hopefully things come to a point where it gets sorted but ensured the consequences are real.

The club is probably losing value with every passing day, so it's in Chansiri's interest to sell them sooner rather than later. I'm confident they'll be sold in the next few weeks.

Reckon they’ll be made to start the season with a load of kids and possibly a big points deduction, similarly to what Bolton and then Wigan went through some years back in League 1.

Was aware of the embargo and players planning to leave.

Didn't know that the players are having to train in various other places as training ground can't be used, as well as the club not arranging any pre-season friendlies yet.

    What a mess!

On the other hand, they did have the good grace to lose at Colchester, handing us another Brunton Park promotion. 🤭

Whilst on the one hand I don't want fans to have to face the loss of their club, on the other hand, Wednesday fans are near the bottom of the list when it comes to fans I would have sympathy for if it did happen to them.

I can see Chansiri finally selling them before the end of August.

This is probably the last chance he has to get a semi-decent price for them as then the new owner has a chance of keeping them in the championship. If they get past this transfer window and into September with Chansiri in charge then they're as good as relegated and their value will plummet. He has to sell.

Unless the club pays the staff and tax man they’ll start the season with a points deduction and the three window transfer ban or will that all just be glossed over ?
