Well spotted 🙄 My bad, as they say these days. Well the HMRC took us to court trying to wind us up then. End result, Hulyer was desperate to find a buyer to rescue the distressed club as he couldn't pay them off, his ship failing to come in on time!Henry Irving said:

Edit - I forgot Wigan, who got relegated after their points deduction but have enjoyed mixed fortunes since.

Just shows you how bad football finances have got when a 7k a week cap is considered a hindrance.
The cap is kind of irrelevant right now anyway because no player in their right mind will sign for them when they're not even paying their current players wages.

The deferred element of that rule (something along the lines of: go into admin before end of March and you take the points hit immediately otherwise you wait until season's end. If you've already been relegated the penalty is held over to next year otherwise it's applied in the current season ... and if that then drops you into the relegation zone then tough titties) was brought in after Leeds took the piss when they got relegated from the Championship.swordfish said:

If I recall correctly that had to get favourable results on the last day but they were away to Ipswich and lost. They pulled the pin on administration about 10 minutes before the end of the game.

How often do we see the sale of a football club drag on and on and then It ultimately falls through or the owners and directors test takes weeks and weeks. How many weeks is it until the first game ? Can Chansiri fund the club until it’s sold and if not what guarantees are there that the club will be able to fulfil its fixtures ? Dealing with Chansiri must be a nightmare. I'd forgotten the finance plan and EFL oversight aspect of it! , makes it an even more difficult deal for a prospective owner to do. Even the most diehard Wednesday fan with the cash to do a deal would find it difficult to navigate.
Wouldn't be surprised if the DD threw up a lot of skeletons in the accounts too.Â0 -

I might be looking at this simplistically, but if they can’t find enough first teamers, would they not just fill the first team squad with youth players?

Also in a bit of a mess I think.  I expect more problems to come out from there in the coming weeks as well.  Nothing on the scale of Wednesday, but got a feeling there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that points to a poor infrastructure and bad ownershipÂForeverAddickted said:
