i think Appleton will get the Northampton game so the SMT can see how he plans to use the new players from the start of a game. Has to be a reset otherwise I think he’s gone.If that happens, how about Graham Potter? Unless Palace grab him after sacking uncle Roy.8

15 mins till the emergency board meeting starts if you believe the rumours on social media.
Not sure if this one will be live on Charlton TV 🙂0 -

A manager who wasn’t backed when he had built momentum last time, but would be now.
I know they asked him to be interim and it was an insult but Scott needs to go back to Powell and grovel.
I actually think they would work well together. Scott doesn’t want an alpha coach and Powell wants to be backed, which appears to be happening.
Get it done. I genuinely think he’d be the missing piece of the puzzle for this ownership3 -
What’s happening with the corner flag ?0

Looking at that second goal I think I want Duff, young enough but experienced enough, but also a decent centre back at this level. When the ball was played back in a few of our lot hung back playing on all those attackers and no other defenders bothered to come back towards the danger.0

We all laughed when they appointed this guy. It was an appalling decision from the very beginning, he was never the one. How much longer are they going to let this drag on for now. We've not had a single 90 minute performance under him in his 27 games... 27 games!
There are no green shoots, there's no ray of light at the end of the tunnel, there's no signs that things might be coming together if only we could do this or that. The idea he's suddenly going to start winning games is for the birds. He doesn't have it in him.40 -

No win since November, which required two penalties against a poor side in what was yet another below par performance.
No clean sheet in 15.
Defeats to league 2 opposition on more than one occasion. The Gillingham game in particular was awful.
That Leyton Orient performance on Boxing Day.
Unable to beat Cray Valley PM at home.
The list of reasons for why this imbecile is not fit to manage goes on and on.35 - Sponsored links:

For MA I imagine the consequence is that he likely won’t get another role for some time. Not a reason not to push the button just an observation.0

Over the next couple of weeks we’re going to have to integrate upwards of 7 (?) new players. I’m not sure that integrating a new manager at this point is that good an idea. I don’t believe any of the rumours that there’s an emergency board meeting or that he’s got until Tuesday. If he was going to get sacked he’d be gone today. Tuesday is important and three points will settle the nerves and see the new lads make an impact from then on.0

Someone on Twitter pointed out that we did better with the injury crisis in the Championship when we were forced to start our U20s like Vennings.10

All the players are going to be new to a new manager anyway.1 -

If Appleton was sacked today I wouldn’t be bothered but I do think that part of Charltons problem and has been for some time is the absolute clamour by fans to sack the manager whenever we go through a bad run. All teams have them and all managers have them. Things need to improve and improve quickly but Appleton started off well enough and once we see the new players integrated I think our results will steady. Is he the right man going forward ? I don’t think so but I also don’t think sacking him now is particularly helpful.5

Until someone can give a better reason than "we should give him time" then I'll keep challenging it.
Evidence of good coaching? No
Improvement in individual players? No
Good football? No
Clear set up and method of play? No
Good results? No
Experience of success at this level? No
Likeable? No
Give him time though.

When I watch other teams play the decent ones go through transitions of play ! CB passes into the midfield, midfield proves forward and the ball miraculously ends up with the forwards in or around the opposition goal. Our transition is CB passes to midfield, midfield passes back to CB they pass to other CB he passes to LB or RB he passes back to GK he knocks it long and we lose possession. That is coaching !!!! If the players are not doing what the manager wants you could reasonably think that the manager might take his hands out of his pockets and become slightly vocal !!!
no clue ! Losing mentality! Rabbit in the headlights ! Would be the 3 phrases I would describe our current manager2 -

The guys win rate is 29% as Charlton manager, those wins include cup games!
his Fa cup record (2 games against a pub team and one against L2) is 33%. With those drawers, it should have been p2, w2!!!!He is a clown!!!!!
29% is the third best in his career behind Lincoln and oxford
that means we was worse than with us at Blackpool, Portsmouth and Blackburn.
history says he is a failure, our performances suggest he can't turn this around! he has to go and it should have happened before today.11
