We (Hendon) didn't defend well enough 1st half and muffed chances early enough in 2nd half. The bloke who scored with his first touch is a centre-back who was chucked on up front a la Phil Chapple.

Liked the Charlton No.6 and Casey looked sharp. The rest were ok but nothing more. The keeper was better 1st half than 2nd, when he struggled with bodies around him. He was a good sport though and enjoyed the banter with those behind the goal.

Nice enough end to the season.
Looking at the match report, I recognised the name of Kurtis Cumberbatch who came through our academy many years ago but never played in the first team. Not the sort of name you forget!

We signed Kurtis about halfway through this season and he's been pretty good. Bobson played for us last season and was a bit inconsistent. He's been at Haringey this season but came to watch last week. Kurtis told someone that he won the LSC with Charlton a few years back, I don't know if he's right or he's getting confused with the KSC?

Was at the game , very impressed with Casey , but needs to learn to stay onside , tine will tell if he makes it for us , we know he has when Chelsea nick him off us and claim him as one of their own .

Would have to have been the Kent one. Last season was our first ever LSC final as far as I'm aware.

If there are bigger clubs like Charlton and other EFL/PL (?) teams in this competition then surely there’s a case for stipulating that if one of them gets to the final the match should be played at their home/first team stadium. The match would attract a much bigger crowd, generate a tidy sum of money and give the other team the opportunity to play on a bigger stage. Conceding ground neutrality isn’t necessarily an issue because the U21s don’t normally play on that ground and the other team would no doubt bring along a lot more fans (Cray Valley in the FA Cup for instance) to get behind them

The London FA writes the rules and finals are at neutral grounds of the smaller teams. There aren't teams in the competition from the bigger clubs.

Do we reckon the other London sides' fans complain about our U21s being in this competition in the same way our fans complain about Prem U21s being in the Football League Trophy?

Either way, seems a great way for our lads to experience men's football - and win silverware in the process! COYR

It's pretty standard for county cups to have reserve teams from the EFL clubs in them. I don't think anyone minds, and Met Police seemed to be quite pleased to be playing us. The fact we take it seriously definitely helps.

I did discuss the possibility of playing the final at the Valley next year with the Chair of the London FA Cup committee, especially as we'll have a more durable pitch then.

Cost would be a factor (how much does it cost to open the Valley compared with Dulwich?) plus Millwall might play in the cup next year so do we really want them infecting the place?

Sure it would be fun for the players to play at a big ground but not sure Hendon v Met Police would draw more than a few 100 where ever it was played.

No, can genuinely say that non-league fans aren't against league clubs being in the competition. All of the league clubs that enter add to the variety of cup football. Sometimes they win and sometimes they lose. Some good relationships can be forged through these games too (we'll have Bakrin next year, at mates' rates please....).
