Sir Michael Parkinson RIP

  • A superb interviwer who let his guests do the talking. Some great comedic moments from Kenneth Williams, Billy Conelly and who could forget that 'bloody Emu'.

He loved his music and this was reflected in the quality of the singers on the show. Apart from that is Oliver Reed's pissed up rendering of The Wild One!

Classic TV. RIP Parky you will be sorely missed.

Just watched Dickie Bird on Bbc breakfast. He cried on there too, god love him.  Very good interview but cracked up when he was chatting about the one guest that escaped Parky.... "she tried like buggery to get him on"...

It was Clint Eastwood in case you missed it.
Clint was interviewed by Parkinson. (You'll find it on YouTube.)  The actual story is that Clint invited Parkinson and his wife to dinner and Parkinson turned down the offer. His wife was furious with him.
  • Well he is 90 so can be forgiven for getting it wrong I guess.
