Yeah that’s true. The situation I was thinking is if there was a 48 team vote across both divisions. No idea if that’s actually how it works but I believe that was the case when L1 and L2 voted to end the season on PPG because of Covid? Unless I’m misremembering that and there were separate votes for each.killerandflash said:
But the teams without international players are affected just as much when they have games postponed by their opponents. There must have been at least 8 teams with callups this weekend, if not more, so there's a high chance of playing one of these teams.Callumcafc said:For League One, they definitely should.
I wonder if it wouldn’t get the votes because of the number of League One and Two teams that don’t have international players outnumber the ones that do…
If the League 2 clubs voted as a block (because they are rarely impacted), it would only take a few additional League 1 clubs to tip it over the top. Stevenage one that immediately comes to mind…
If it’s division by division though, the above is all for nothing and it should be voted through you’d think.
I’m just trying to think of reasons as to why it hasn’t happened already. It’s seemed obvious for at least a few seasons now.0 -
Stockport's winning run ends in defeat at Newport. Mansfield no longer unbeaten in L2 after defeat at Swiindon.0

Pompey v Bolton tonight (11/12/23) ,, and it's LIVE on Sky Sports lol .. should be a good one and give us a good idea of how the top 2 are performing0
 -
I'm not watching the game but not surprised to see Pompey leading, best side we have played so far this season imo. Just thought they looked solid everywhere0

            Look at that effort.
Pompey forward Yengi is thrown to the ground by Santos.
Unlike Kirk & Tedic who just stay on the ground because they are lazy, their lad jumps up and sprints forward to catch up with play and score.
If only all our players had guts and determination (a few do).2 -

Santos has come to be regarded as a top top defender .. last night to an extent Yengi showed him up as a slowcoach who is perhaps only good when given time and space to think and is un-harried. Yengi only played because Colby Bishop, Pompey's main striker, is injured .. Bolton disappointed last night, mind you that is because Pompey were at them all the time, all over the pitch .. IF taken on board, Pompey's performance should be a wake up call for us to emulate. Apples has said his side lacks (I paraphrase) aggression and physicality, well Apples, GET THEM MOTIVATED and instil a lot of what is needed, that is what you and them are paid forCovered End said:Look at that effort.

The momentum Ipswich have taken on from last season to this is extraordinary. Finishing 2nd league one last season to leading championship now with 51 points after only 21 games.1

Oxford having a bit of a wobble since losing their manager. Our play off charge is back on!1

No one can make weak, lightweight players players tough and aggressive week in week out.Lincsaddick said:

Appleton was 100% correct.
If you don't bite as a pup you won't as a dog.
You can't turn a Charlie Kirk into a Joey Barton for example. It's not in his nature and vice versa.0 -

Scott Parker toughed up after that loan spell at Norwich, and ended up as a defensive midfielder
Robert Lee went from being a striker/attacking midfielder to being more of a solid midfielder in his later years0 -

Wrexham won again today, 3rd in League 2 and seemingly holding momentum. The huge cash injection helps clearly.0

Bit of a shocker to see Ipswich lose 4-0 at Leeds2

Leeds needed that to be in with a shot at automatics. Beaten Ipswich twice now this season.Callumcafc said:Bit of a shocker to see Ipswich lose 4-0 at Leeds0 -
Good win for Stockport against Notts County. L2 very strong this season.0

second televised defeat against a physical side (WBA the first) who outmuscled and essentially outplayed and outfought them .. seen Ipswich a few times this season, t b h it's a bit of a mystery to me how they are so far ahead of the pack, except for Leicester .. BUT they are still up thereCallumcafc said:Bit of a shocker to see Ipswich lose 4-0 at Leeds0 -

Stuck with their man and now 16 unbeaten - breathing down the neck of Ipswich for 2nd place…Chris_from_Sidcup said:4 defeats in a row for Southampton, they have the worst defensive record in the championship and they play Leeds next week.
Huge pressure on Russell Martin.0 -

Mansfield completed the double over Stockport today and are now two just points behind their rivals with two games in hand. They've still only lost the one game all season and in their last 19 League games, with Flint at the centre of their defence, have conceded just 13 goals. They are now favourites to take the title as Stockport have picked up just 10 points of the last 24 available. If they do win League 2 it will be a fitting tribute to Nigel Clough who celebrates 25 years and over 1,200 matches since he first became a Manager.Addick Addict said:
I agree that they did that last season. If there is one difference I would say it is the signing of Aden Flint. Middlesbro' paid £7m for him five years ago, Cardiff subsequently bought him for £4m and up until the first half of last season he was playing in the Championship. He went out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday and was a regular starter in the latter part of the season. It's no coincidence that Mansfield have the best defence in the division with just three goals conceded in the last eight games - their issue is converting their chances but with the possibility of one or two attacking players returning, it won't take much for them to turn draws into wins.ForeverAddickted said:Mansfield seem to be the League Two equivalent of Portsmouth - Wont be surprised if they fall away again.3 -

Teams around us continue to win tonight, Reading winning at Stevenage and Exeter beating Peterborough, both big shocks.0

A few of our former players on view in tonight's televised game - Keeper James Beadle and Akin Famewo for Wednesday plus Krystian Bielik who is playing at CB for Birmingham1
 -

Wednesday won 2-0. Famewo was solid and Beadle, although clearly nervy early on as one would expect a 19 year old to be especially at that level, made three or four very important saves to keep Wednesday in the game. Not sure CB really is Bielik's best position and he managed to get himself booked in the final minute for a spat with big Matt Smith (the one that didn't play for us)Addick Addict said:A few of our former players on view in tonight's televised game - Keeper James Beadle and Akin Famewo for Wednesday plus Krystian Bielik who is playing at CB for Birmingham0 -

Apologies, so he was! Although this particular Michael Smith did only manage three minutes as a sub in a Cup game against Halifax during his two and a half years at the Club.killerandflash said:
