“The gaffer said before that he wanted three things and if we did two of them we’d win the game. That was the clean sheet, score first and win the game. We’ve managed to do all three so it’s a really good day.”
Technically true, but you can’t have “win the game” as one of the criteria to “win the game” surely! 😂

Especially as it would be impossible not to win the game if the first two criteria are completed

If any team could somehow manage that it would be Charlton....
Looks a different player this season.. Much more aggressive in winning the ball, amount of times this season, he has nicked the ball in front of the defender. I wasn't his biggest fan, but he has improved a lot. Credit where credit is due!

He seems to be a bit more proactive now - attacking a ball more and taking it off attackers rather than trying to react to them driving at him instead. Not sure if it's a specific instruction from N Jones or he's just recovered his mojo after last season but either way it seems to be working for him.

Started the season well, but now starting to show some worrying signs. He is really really poor with the ball at his feet. I think we might come to regret not upgrading that central centre back position

Not sure about that, unless I missed something today. Think he's been one of our best players and barely put a foot wrong.

Funny you say that as I pointed out in the match thread a few times he did well with the ball, playing risky passes into central midfield and when he drove forward with the ball and ended up on the left wing. I'm probably not remembering everything from the game though.

The throw in error at Reading last week and gave the ball away today which led to the goal. Was a clear plan from Rotherham to let him have the ball every goal kick and he didn’t use it well at all

I think overall he’s been very good this season, just worried about how he started well last season and then wasn’t good enough for most of it. Starting to see a few errors creep in
He shouldn't have been arguing the throw Vs Reading but even so, we had 5 defenders back against 2 attackers and goal should never have happened. We didn't concede because he argued the throw.
Didn't notice he gave the ball away before their goal today but they've stuck it in from long range and we've got plenty of people back again.
For me these errors aren't in the same league as ones we've seen in recent seasons
Suspect NJ is not going to be overly impressed, twice in two weeks goals have been conceded with mistakes by L Jones being at the root. The weird thing is that he's been otherwise very good, even in those same games. He's just suddenly become prone to an absolute clanger on a semi regular basis for no apparent reason.

Harsh to single out Jones for the goal yesterday. There were loads of players between the goalscorer and the goal, but they all stood back until it was too late.
Good for majority of the game but at fault for the goal yesterday with poor distribution. Kept two decent league 1 strikers very quiet but the mistakes lead directly to goals

Because I don’t think it was originally made up with a centre back in mind!
Yeah think its a Stones one for England.
