Don’t underestimate the amount of Yanks that want to jump on the Wrexham train. They’ll get a Billionaire jump on with the current owners to bank role them to the prem at some point soon I imagine.MintoHumbugs said:I just read an interesting Wrexham article about the Reynolds takeover. The club was bought for £1 with the promise of 2 million investment. This again puts the idea of Wrexham walking through the leagues and signing first team championship players ( more than one has been linked ) more laughable than ever. They are certainly not going to spend millions here and there on players. He has without doubt lifted the clubs profile and done well to get them out of the conference so will give him some credit but I think some people maybe getting a bit carried away with current feel good factor.8 -
Listened to the Foster podcast with Ollie Palmer - who moved from Wimbledon to Wrexham. Both he and Foster were keen to emphasise how great owners they are. Apparently they offered to support their players “side hustles”. Palmer has a clothing company , they publicise his clothes on their huge social media channels and wear the clothes that Palmers company supply.Perhaps it’s a bit more than just the wage packet …,..6

It's all part of the PR machine. Right now Ryan Reynolds alone makes anything PR-able, however right now won't last forever.billysboots said:Listened to the Foster podcast with Ollie Palmer - who moved from Wimbledon to Wrexham. Sorry to add to the off topicness, but.
We hear, every time there is a take over, about increasing commercial revenue. Charlton isn't marketable as it is and no amount of wishful thinking will make it marketable.
Now imagine if let's say Dwayne Johnson bought us. His not wealth isn't much more than RD's but his annual income is significantly more. Anyway, over night you would have millions, and millions of the Rock's fans will suddenly take an interest.
He could wear some merchandise, host xfl games at the Valley, a 2 minute promo before each game on twitter etc. I honestly think you could sell out a league game on the rumour that he would be there.
Your revenue would go through the roof. For about 20 million up front and about 2 or 3 hours a week work from him you could have a premier league club worth significantly more.
He could buy the ground for a £1 because he would layeth the smackth down on Roland's candy arse
I don't think Wrexham will be the last Hollywood club.
I have just talked myself into wanting the Rock to own us, was an elite level footballer at college as well so would know to leave the football side to the experts.

You know what, sod all this feeding narratives and business negotiation shit, let's just set up a stage and throw a Royal Rumble at the Valley. Charlie M, Friedman, Sandgaard, Duchatelet, Varney and that Turkish chap who won't shut up... last one standing gets ownership of the whole package, club, stadium etc.Cafc43v3r said:

Jay Dasilva leaving Bristol city. If only we could get him back19

If Alfie May is a budding song writer, perhaps Thomas can lure him to sign by offering to play his song on the pitchbillysboots said:Listened to the Foster podcast with Ollie Palmer - who moved from Wimbledon to Wrexham. On the plus side Deano would be aware of him at Bristol City. On the negative it seems that City were not prepared to renew his contract on the same terms and there are indications that Coventry are interested.nagAddick said:Jay Dasilva leaving Bristol city. If only we could get him back0 -
Would have more chance signing him if he offered not to play it on the pitch.killerandflash said:

Just read Jordan Graham has been released by Brum, wasn’t we in for him a couple of seasons ago?7
-
There’s a striker in league 2 who finished with 19 goals. The names Bogle , Omar Bogle . I guess he’s at his level. Couldn’t have seen him hitting 19 in 5 years here.3

You're absolutely sure the 19 is this season and not in the career total?MintoHumbugs said:There’s a striker in league 2 who finished with 19 goals. The names Bogle , Omar Bogle . I guess he’s at his level. Couldn’t have seen him hitting 19 in 5 years here.7 -
With yellow feathers in his hair and a dress cut down to there....MintoHumbugs said:The name is Bogle, Omar Bogle.

Omar Bogle was so poor for us. Really out of his depth. He does so well in league 2/National League though so fair play to him.1

Jay Dasilva will be going to a good Championship club3

That is all the things that have been missing at Charlton for years.RC_CAFC said:
Luton have proved that what Wrexham want to achieve is possible with money spent wisely, appointments made sensibly and a loyalty shown to those appointments and bloody lot of hard work and desire.ShootersHillGuru said:If they are truly courting players like Alfie May in their first season back in Division 2 then I think there is intent to do something. Where that something has to stop is the big question. My guess is when they’re challenging in league one / promoted to the Championship. Reynolds and McElhenneys wealth after a quick google search seems to point to a combined wealth of perhaps $400 million. That’s not enough in the crazy world of football to climb above the Championship but if they’re committed and smart it might be enough to get them there. They’d also presumably have plenty of very rich friends and associates that might fancy jumping on for the ride. I’m not saying they’re going to end up in the Premiership but I can see Championship football in four of five seasons. Maybe.2 -
Knowing our luck we will get Omar Bugiel.MintoHumbugs said:There’s a striker in league 2 who finished with 19 goals. The names Bogle , Omar Bogle . I guess he’s at his level. Couldn’t have seen him hitting 19 in 5 years here.2 -
Kane Vincent-Young has been released by Ipswich, always thought he looked good whenever we played them0

A right-back who can fill in at left back who has had a few injury issues, sounds made for us.PWADDICK said:Kane Vincent-Young has been released by Ipswich, always thought he looked good whenever we played them1
