Potentially good news. Lets face it, nothing's going to be worse than the current, pipe fluid with a dash of flat fozzies offering. Lots of unanswered questions from that article though.
Other than the IPA, what beers will there be? In my experience, the standard Meantime beers are pretty... well, standard. Where they excel is in their top of the range high-alcohol brews. I suspect these are probably not what most people want to quaff at football, and even if they were, are probably not what the authorities would want us drinking.
Are they going to be available throughout the stadium or at selected places only? What is this new technology that they are bringing in? Is it just, much needed, new beer lines or is there something else going on?
Finally, the killer question is, what's it going to cost? Traditionally football beer has always been overpriced muck and Charlton's offerings have been right down there with the worst. Meantime have a reputation for being at the pricier end of the market. I would imagine in the current climate, their prices may be beyond many, at least on a regular basis. I'm happy with the potential rise in quality, but I have to say that alarm bells are ringing about the affordability.
In the fans bar now. Had a 'taster' of the two meantime ales on the carbon dioxide pressure taps Not impressed so bought a pint from the ale barrel which I was told was the meantime ale, cost £5.80 & decent.

£5.80 is fair - happy with that. Is it available on the concourses?

Was today, or at least was on the price boards, so assume you could get it if you queued up
Had an Anytime tonight and was very pleasantly surprised. Best beer I've ever had at Charlton. Have to say my scepticism above was misplaced. Well done to the club for getting this deal and congratulations to Meantime for proving that you can deliver a a decent pint at a football ground.

£5.80 as well? Impressed with that. A lot of pubs in Greenwich are at £6.50 now.
In the absence of a well kept cask ale, which for a stadium is difficult to keep, Meantime is a decent alternative to the generic lager or John Smith's.
I like this. Specific to Charlton, a nod to our history and a local brewery supporting the club, and investing their time to mix things up. We haven't seen this for a while, so one improvement I've seen from the new team and owners.
I'm a bit far in the sticks to get down, so can someone give me a full taste test report please?

"there used to be a pub at the back of the Covered End"
When was that or do they mean the bar under the Covered End ? I'm a relative newcomer & only started attending 65/66 season so maybe it was before my time.

I'm sure I remember seeing it as a kid in the 70s, never went in though. Does this mean I have a false memory?

It's a tough ask, but I'll see what I can do.
Sorry, it proved to be a task to far. They haven’t got it in the North Upper.

Might have to get down for the Burton game. As long as the players promise not to throw away another nailed on win. Which bar sells this Robins nectar ?

The Fans Bar does for sure (previously Crossbars).
The red beer @fenlandaddick was very tasty and I hope they keep it. Still a bit too cold and gassy for me - think it would have more taste at room temperature. As mentioned elsewhere the service was very slow...not enough staff.
Bit of an odd one, but does anyone on here know senior people at Meantime and / or Alastair Hook?
Co-incidentally I’m currently working with two separate charities in Greenwich – one that is based close to Meantime’s main site, that would like to speak to meantime about partnering on an event, and the other where there is a loose plan to develop a micro-brewery on a site it owns and it could do with some independent, specialist advice.
@Budington – you look like you may be someone in the know?

Not an issue for me though. Cracking beer.
