The game turned on the introduction of Chuks and Corey, but I agree with those saying that Garner's antics fired up our crowd in a very positive way.
That said I don't think his ostentatious indiscipline sets a very good example to the players, even if it worked in our favour this time.
I also don't agree with his comment about playing against 12 men.
The referee wasn't biased towards Ipswich he was just fecking incompetant.
It was like he was insecure in his own authority and had to keep making "look at me I'm in charge" grand gestures and bookings galore. Worst I've seen for ages.
I think that is a fair assessemnt of the ref.

That shocking forum mentions a handball by us? Must have missed that as I dont even remember any appeals?

I thought Ipswich were just full of whingebags for all the obvious talent in there ranks, they dont look like a team. Charlton do and you can see these players play for each other and the manager!

It is possible to like Garner yet still be critical of his behaviour towards referees.
If blasting at referees gets crowds going and produces results you’d have thought it would happen all the time at every game.
One solution might be to play without referees or let a manager half heartedly ‘referee’ from one corner of the pitch Sunday League style.

His reaction for me showed passion and an attitude needed to get out of this league. The players would have seen that and thought right backs to the wall time lads! Him as manager will get us promoted unfortunately I dont think he will be with us long once championships sides come calling

His wallet won’t allow him to do that every game. No problem with the passion and attitude but he needs to now learn from what happened and use it a constructive manner the next time an incident goes against us.

Otherwise you turn into Steve Evans

When do we find out if he has a touchline ban and for how long.

As well as refusing to leave the field of play, he could be faced with a punishment for coming back on to celebrate the equaliser. The guy in the grey jumper who originally escorted him off was trying to usher him back off and pointing towards the referee.

Mr Sangaard should pay the fine.

Seems like a slight overreaction to what is a one off moment of madness. He's not been going off at referees on the regular, or at least not more than any other manager does.

If it was a repeat offence then I would be more critical but based on current evidence I'm not that bothered.

He had 2 yellows before this match, so not the first time this season.

The impact of his rant, and indeed the crowd has been somewhat exaggerated, when compared to the subs. When you look at when the incidents happened

    52 minutes - Ipswich score
    53? - Garner sent off

Then nothing much happens for the next  few minutes until.

62 - Chuks and CBT come on
    63 - we score

And the 2 goals we scored in added time were after much of the crowd had left anyway!

Yeh, but in general terms he definitely woke the crowd from their torpor

Ipswich might not look like a team but I'll take their points total so far this season over ours

Wonder what the Milton Keynes and Ipswich referees have been charged with.

Its our responsibility to keep them out... But giving a non existent penalty in one game, then a free kick (and then ignoring an offside) in another is a clear sign that the FA's "officials" aren't doing a proper job themselves
When was the last time it was made public after a refs performance? That’s between that official, his accessor and the FA. A demotion or a week off possibly but who takes notice of that? Hardly anyone

Yeah the sporting bodies could do wonders for themselves if they were more transparant.

Thought they'd have learnt their lesson from the FIFA debacle
