Just read NJ's piece in News on Line, his handling and playing some of these players is beyondme. Tyreece should have been rested full stop, their was no need to bring him on against Chelsea. He could have quite easily put on Dixon!
I think NJ really lacks insight, getting sick and tired when managers don't know how to manage their players, should have given him an extra days rest.
The minutes he is giving KD is ridiculous and again Southend would have been a good game for him to be involved!
On the other hand NJ sees Dixon in training every day, we don’t, we don’t know how good or bad he is, NJ does and I’m happy to thrust his judgement. Whether Campbell should have come on v Chelsea is another matter.
BTW, would love to see footage of the Ravan challenge.
If you have Charlton TV you can play back the game?
It was every bit as bad as NJ says. Worse than Clare on Edwards, because there wasnt the slightest intention to get the ball.
I hope the Wrexham player is ashamed of that tackle on Tyreece. Was disgusting and I think it should have been a red card, even though I'm sure the ref would use the excuse of it not being last man etc.

Im really not sure he is tiny and that was one VERY VERY physical game i think it was too soon to throw him in when it was a proper battle tbf
I don't think it was a red card according to the laws of the game but it should be. It is different to a pull back foul in that the opponent was in full flow and the foul carried a real risk of injury.

I would think it fits into one of these three brackets: serious foul play/violent conduct/excessive force
By the laws of the game, it is 100% a red card and NJ is right. The law states that serious foul play (which is a sending off offence) is “a tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.
Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.”
The fact that he wiped out TC from behind, deliberately, with no attempt of playing the ball, means he clearly endangered the safety of TC. The referee got it wrong, he should’ve been sent off. It was an awful challenge and I wish there was retrospective action that could be taken, but unfortunately there’s not.
Deliberately kicking a player when you've got no chance of getting the ball, how can that not be a red? ABH ain't legal.
The guy behind me at the game was of the opinion that he could be sent off. I can remember his exact wording why but from memory, he wasn’t in control of the tackle
Sean Clare put Josh Edwards out for 3 months when Orient played here earlier this season. Now the dirty Wrexham bastard S Revan has probably done the same to Tyreece. Lets hope we have someone to extract revenge on them at the away matches!

Every team used to have a hatchet man. I can't think of one now, but if refs continue to be lenient on this sort of tackle I'm sure they'll make a comeback.

We played orient less than three months ago and Edwards has been back for sometime.
is there any noise from the club saying Campbell is out for 3 months?

Edward’s was injured on 17/8 and back 21/9. So barely a month, nevermind 3.
You could argue Wrexham’s punishment for that horrible tackle was worse than a red card since the ensuing melee from the free kick was what led to the penalty.
Nonetheless it does seem baffling that there isn’t an option for retrospective bans for such tackles.
For all the talk about whether Nathan Jones has improved any players since he came in... Well Tyreece is the biggest answer
He was a shadow of himself, this time last year, what with the damage that Appleton did to his confidence
Backed out of simple 50/50 challenges, and hid in matches - Last couple of games he's well and truly come alive.
True enough... but it has only been the past couple of games. There was a long period of trying to turn him into some sort of Henry/Saka style striker which really didn't work so I'm not giving Jones that much credit overall honestly.
He was lucky with his goal today. The goalkeeper made a howler. Tyreece is improving very slowly but often makes the wrong decision. Today I didn’t think he had a particularly good game.

Credit to Jones for building his confidence back up but I don’t think he’s drastically improved from where he was pre-Appleton. He always was a decent squad player who got the odd goal or assist with the potential to be something more than that.
He hasn’t become a clear first choice player yet but it would be great to see him get there.

Oh yeah not saying that Campbell has suddenly turned into some world beater by any stretch - We've definitely seen his confidence return under Jones, hopefully he can kick on this season now, as is ridiculous to think that only CBT got more League assists than him last season

You make your own luck. A well timed run to stay on side, that was into the right area to receive a potential flick on, good pace and strength to stay ahead of and fend off the last defender, and then a low hard shot between the keeper’s legs. Keeper could’ve done better but Tyreece couldn’t have done anymore with the situation so it was far from “lucky”.
Such a good player but needs to start owning games like Rak sakhi did. I’m confident that will come.
He’s got a long way to go to be as good as JRS but Rak Sakhi didn’t really “own” games. He would go quiet for spells too but he produced those match winning moments with more regularity.
A fairer comparison than JRS would be the likes of Wagstaff or Harriott.
The various ways we've set up this season has meant TC has played in various positions, without ever playing his most natural position, on the left in a 433, but NJ clearly rates him as he's regularly been chosen ahead of more obvious options.
He showed good strength and speed to get through and with no one near him took the only option available and shot, as he got there I was right behind him in the West stand thinking no chance as he was going through but he proved if you don’t buy a ticket you can’t win the lottery , as a previous manager once said ‘plenty of shots’ he’s 🥩’d up nicely and is starting to reap some rewards , long may it continue
