A few weeks ago Doku dribbled past Alexander-Arnold loads but wasn't able to do anything with the ball. In the case of TC he creates a lot of big chances , takes a lot of touches in the opposition box and has a high amount of successful crosses.

Bit hyperbolical, perhaps, but he's deserving of a bit of hype. I would say he's, at least, starting to look better than Rak-Sakhi was when he was with us because he's having those decisive moments but he's also always running and working and making sure he's involved across the whole 90 minutes (unless he's subbed off like tonight).
However it does work both ways, I remember disagreeing with others on here who said they weren’t bothered if JRS was recalled by Palace in January. He scored 6 of his 15 goals for us in March and April. Like TC, he improved as the season went on.3 -

The player with the chance has to score. That's not Tyreece's fault.
Exactly this. Even last night he put a great ball onto Small's head only for him to head wide from close range.0 -
I’m glad we have him on a long contract all the talk about how much Miles is worth (which I don’t agree with lol ) TC must be worth double0

CBT had better stats but I would have TC over him all day. Not because he is one of our own but because his work rate is incomparable with CBT who ignored all defensive duties. That has also stopped CBT progressing at Derby imo.1 -

Nathan is basically saying he never saw a better Premier League player when he managed in The Premier League.
I'd love Nathan a lot more if he didn't talk such shite.1 -

To be fair, I think he was comparing players he worked with of the same age group/circumstances.6

I haven’t seen JRS play since he left us so don’t know to what extent he’s improved. I’m purely comparing how JRS was with us and how TC is now. I can’t say I see anything missing from TC’s game now that JRS provided significantly more. TC does need to keep up the end product consistently now, but the three goals he scored this week were exactly the kinds of things that made JRS so popular here. Add in that he’s probably stronger physically and works harder off the ball (not sure if JRS would’ve handled NJ’s high intensity pressing in the same way) and TC is getting up to that kind of level of player for us.

Would have have rak sakyi back here in a heartbeat was a class player for us and had end product.0

JRS and Canpbell are different players. Campbell is better at beating people, JRS was/is a better finisher. If Campbell can add finishing to his game, he will be a better player IMO. The recent signs are promising but it is too early to say for sure. What is promising is that last season Campbell had to work on his strength and he has done, he seems to be a player who can get better. At the end of last season, it was not a certainty we would retain him with fans. He has transformed into our best prospect and that is in a squad with Leaburn and Anderson and quite a few others.0

I think this is the week TC finally came of age, in a footballing sense.
Two great strikes and a brilliant performance against Huddersfield and you would naturally expect a young lad to be feeling that a bit come Tuesday. And it's probably fair to say he didn't have his greatest game but, and it's a huge BUT, he still had the ability and strength to not just trick his way past his man but to physically push past him and then unleash a great strike into the bottom corner. Sure, the keeper mightve done better, but he didn't have the chance to set himself properly because of TCs sudden burst and quick shot.
You can bet your life that when the rest of the division saw that goal they would've all had one thought in their minds, "why haven't we got anyone who can do that?"18 -

Rak Sakyi was 20 the same age as TC is now when he had his loan at CAFC.
The major difference is Campbell has to play with more discipline under our manic Nathan and it obviously took time to not only get stronger but to transition from being a youth player to men's footballer and being more than just a right winger.
JRS also took time but he had Carte blanche to attack in a mediocre team with less defensive responsibility or having a partnership as TC has with Edwards on the left or Ramsey when Tyreece switches to the right.
I always felt CBT should've switched sides more as he had two good feet even though he was very hot and cold.
JRS may end up being a good Championship player and as the Premiership defenders are so superior to the majority of League 1 defenders, TC may well end up also being at a high level in a Championship team.
After his brilliant game against Huddersfield and a very good game against Mansfield (a couple of mistakes) his ceiling is currently on the rise.1 -
The first time I saw him in pre-season, I hardly recognised him, he had bulked up so much...
Now, maybe Jones and other coaches told him in advance that he was going to be tried as a striker, and suggested he worked on his strength, but...
It being suggested he do it, and him spending his own time off doing it, are very different things indeed!
Full credit to the man. He obviously worked incredibly hard to get to the position he has. Without taking anything away from his pace etc. He deserves all the praise he is receiving.7 - Sponsored links:

https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/sport/charlton-chief-nathan-jones-phenomenal-tyreece-campbell-has-quality-to-play-in-the-premier-league/Jones really bigging him up here. Over the top probably, but the potential is there if he starts scoring and assisting regularly. I think it’s more that he’s trying too boost and maintain TCs confidence, as that’s clearly very important for TC, as is getting fitter, stronger and improving other areas of his game.5
-
Also if there are clubs sniffing around him, as there allegedly were in January, it signals we think highly of him and aren't going to let him go for a pittance.2
-
The thing with TC right now, if his confidence was rock bottom under Appleton then it is sky high now.
If you look at the three goals he's just scored, all of them there is not even a fraction of a second of hesitation from him. Each time he knows what he is going to do as soon as the ball comes to him, and he instantly sets about doing that in the most devastating way possible. That's the difference confidence makes. That's absolutely why NJ wants to keep it high, as @Scoham says.
In particular, watch back his goal vs Huddersfield and also the chance the keeper just got fingertips to a few minutes before it. The pace he drives at the Huddersfield defence with, you can just see how terrified the defenders are of it. They simply cannot live with it. They're maybe just a flash of TC's potential but, those two moments, to me, are reminiscent of a League One defence being outclassed by a Premier League winger or striker in a cup tie.
NJ's laying on the praise pretty thick, and why not, but I don't doubt he believes the underlying message that TC has an opportunity to play at a very high level if he keeps working and developing. He has the physicality, now, and the technical side is catching up fast. I'm very excited by him.4 -
Rak-Sakyi has featured 29 times for Sheff U in the automatic promotion places and has scored 6 goals. I've probably seen all their televised games and definitely seen all their goals.

Nothing but admiration for him. All the hard work is paying off. Instrumental to the progression of the team, and now plays without fear in an environment that allows him to express himself. I've no idea how high up the leagues he could play, but with his attitude and work ethic I see no reason why he cannot achieve more.Amazing how a well built squad and quality coaching/management has helped our academy graduates.2

Some of the comments from 8-10 pages back are great to read now.
I’m still trying to find the one from @Braziliance on another thread that said we would never have a shot at top six with academy products like TC and Anderson in our squads and we had to spend some money to get better in. :-)5 -
