Had a tip off to back Albania first goal.

    £20 at 4/1 well spent
Was it from the Italian defender who took the throw in?  ;)
    Yes

What I will say is the difference between BBC and ITV coverage was evident almost immediately between Spain Croatia and Italy Albania games.

ITV took 5 minutes talking about the game the country had just watched and immediately moved on to an unrelated feature about Kyle Walker.

BBC spent a decent chunk of their build up coverage on a nice feature about the history of Albania and Albanian football.

Was at the Hungary-Switzerland game yesterday. Cologne is a fantastic city, and the stadium is great. Even in the top tier, you feel like you are on top of the pitch.

One thing the Euros has over the World Cup is that you tend to get bigger turnouts from the ‘smaller’ fanbases. It really felt like the stadium was cut in half between Hungarians and Swiss. Both sides making a right racket.

High energy game which also helped as well. Lots of fun all round.

Germany really does feel like the perfect country to host a major tournament. The experience has been faultless so far.

I haven’t been to Cologne and lots of other parts of Germany for about 20 odd years. I used to go there regularly in the 90’s for work.
I always liked the country and the people. More often than not the evenings were fantastic but the mornings were often terrible.

Fell over his own feet/dived rather than score an open goal.

Pathetic from the ref and VAR - wasn't a penalty, and if it was it was a sending off, penalty and a yellow was wrong twice.

So why was the defender so relieved not to be sent off ?
Good decision as minimal connection and a theatrical dive and penalty plus a yellow card common sense.

Rules were changed so contact isn't a red in the box as opposed to outside the box where a red and a free kick is given.
Some refs would have given a red as rule book does say a genuine attempt at a tackle.

VAR working well so far in this tournament  as shown when the Swiss goal was given and the lino was shown to be wrong.
Even to the naked eye watching on TV you could see the Swiss goal was clean.

Doesnt look like it was a dive from this angle... You can see now why the Croat didnt just put it in an empty net

reuro2024 - A good angle for everyone oblivious as to why Croatia was given a penalty for a dive

Bet365 have boosted England's win odds to evens. Serbia/draw is 2.62. Get the stake right and a profit is guaranteed.

The flags were taken by Serbian ultras who support Partizan(Grobari) who then hang/hold them upside down.
If you know your Balkan history you will know that there is no love lost between Serbia and Albania.

Good analysis from Ashley Williams at HT about how Zonal marking should work from a corner and how the 3 Dutch blockers were all negligence in their jobs and how all the Dutch players were statues.

7 goals in 11 matches for the big man Weghorst for the Dutch; just the 2 minutes for him to make a difference. Struggles to score in domestic football but steps up for the Netherlands.
