Miles Leaburn - Signs New 3 Year Contract (p77)

The thing I always find weirdest with the criticism of Leaburn is this idea that he's only playing because of who his dad is, which comes up a shocking amount. As if Nathan Jones gives a fuck who Carl Leaburn was! There's plenty to criticise about Miles' play at the moment without adding in the bizarre idea that Nathan Jones, one of the most single-minded managers going, is beholden to the fact Miles is the son of our 1994 player of the year.10

If he didn't already have the number of first-team appearances that he does, I would suggest a loan away to League One for the second half of the season to build his confidence back up would do him wonders.
Once Kelman and Godden do eventually come back, I can't see the justification for him playing based on his output this season.3 -
Until the injury at Welling I think if he'd had a decent season he could have got a good move for his career.
To me it seems he is now struggling after a long period out and he's not the same player.
I'd suggest he'll end up being a league 1/ championship player at best.0 -
Strangely, I don't think I've ever read or heard a single person say this (although they must have if you've heard it).Garrymanilow said:The thing I always find weirdest with the criticism of Leaburn is this idea that he's only playing because of who his dad is, which comes up a shocking amount. He gets called a nepo selection around every single game on here and there are a lot of others who say stuff like “he’s only here because of his name/dad”Covered End said:

I think it should be noted that position that Miles is being asked to play now is a position that he has never, to my knowledge, occupied, or if he has then it was a short lived experiment. We are playing him as target man when he previously achieved success playing off the front man, this lump it up to Miles, has also affected Sonny Carey, and probably Tyreece Campbell, it's not how we play normally but it's where we are.5
