It will be REALLY cheap - because he won't buy the stadium until he reaches the Premiership. At that point, the guaranteed £150m+ makes his investment into acquiring the club, buying players and then buying the ground when we get to the Premier, means it's money well spent.billysboots said:The only way Ashely is going to get involved with us is if he can see real value in the upside. Unless he gets it really cheap I cant see him being interested.
If he refuses to spend lots when we get there and we become a yo yo club like Norwich and Watford until he sells up, again, I don't have a problem.
We are currently just outside the relegation zone of League 1..... yes.... our lowest ever ebb...11 -

I think there could be an argument to suggest it is. Newcastle fans will turn on their mega-rich owners if they don't win anything in the next 3-5 years. That's what their fanbase is like.SDAddick said:
Ashley is bad news. I have some Newcastle supporting friends and he is loathed for good reason. The way he ran the club was awful. The way he treats his workers is awful. He's just generally a clueless man. Just because he has money doesn't make him smart.ButtleJR said:Ashley is interested, floating around the club at the moment.
Once again, it could get better than TS, but it could get a lot worse. And how well someone runs a football club isn't just down to their bank balance.3 -

He doesn't need the property until we make the Premiership. Why outlay money until it's needed to be spent. Say it takes him 4 years to get us into the Premiership - if he's lucky. He lays out £35m to buy the ground etc now or he waits 4 years and it's still £35m. Cost of money £35m at say a rate of 5% + he could get elsewhere on his investments. 5% for 4 years on £35m.... that's an effective "saving" to him of £7m !billysboots said:

You do not need to buy the ground until we make the Premiership. You just need to have an agreed deal with the landlord..... Rich people don't spend £35m if they don't need to but can still lock in the price at that!

Why are people getting excited about Ashley when he is buying Wasps and Coventry?1
-
Because the only bit of success this club will have this season is a change of ownership.benjest1989 said:Why are people getting excited about Ashley when he is buying Wasps and Coventry?0 -
I know he flew by helicopter to pick up his wife's new puppy but had no idea he was heading to Coventry to satisfy an Apiculture hobby?benjest1989 said:Why are people getting excited about Ashley when he is buying Wasps in Coventry?0 -

Four questions that need answering right now….
1. How many sons does Ashley have?
2. Does the eldest have a more powerful shot than Martin?
3. Can the middle one tell as many lies on twitter as Joachim?
4. Is the youngest also christened Clegnut?16 -
If TS sells, will the Addicks to Victory platinum disc go in the museum?17

Agree with 90% of what you’re saying……however I am not happy with your comments re Garner.Billy_Mix said:TS cutting the budget at the academy?
The SLP: 'Skintgaard has described the figure mentioned as “not accurate”.'
That's not a denial.
Promoted Anthony Hayes and didn't replace him.
Also savings on travel, physios(!) "not dictated by me(TS)" so he's a bystander on the academy budget too!
I've worked out when Skintgaard is lying: - his lips move
I ain't got the first clue what he's up to, what he thinks he's up to and what he's getting out of it. I do know I don't trust his judgement. I do know that the onfield situation has deteriorated steadily since his hands have been on the tiller.
His next decision will have to be: put up with Garner's inept bumbling in the feint hope Lady Luck bestows points on us or bite the bullet find a replacement and cough up the bumbler's compo.
I've no expectation TS wakes up to the reality of his hopelessness as the club's CEO, gets in someone competent and risks another chunk of his wealth and credibility on reversing the accelerating decline he is currently masterminding.
He and Gallen have been very badly let down by TS in the transfer market.
Of course, there’s no way of telling how good things might be had he been given a reasonable budget to play with, but my take is that he is operating with one hand tied firmly behind his back.
I have a hunch he’d be a very good manager. if given the right backing.22 -
Just as an aside.
Simon Hallet the owner of table topping Plymouth Argyle who are now hitting genuine gates of over 15,000, has a net worth of $83 Millon. I would think this is less than a third of TS.

I've missed so many pages on here so apologies if old news. The two kit guys rumoured to have been sacked. Spoke to my mate who walks his dog with one of them this morning. Apparently they were so pissed off with what is going on at the club that they both resigned a fortnight ago.23

'Not dictated by me' means, 'You must save 150k, I don't care how you do it.'. He obviously felt he had to respond to this, unlike other recent claims, because the Academy would be a big part of his sales pitch to a new buyer. If that too is collapsing the club becomes even less valuable than it already is.Billy_Mix said:TS cutting the budget at the academy?

Imagine if the 5 year plan was blossoming, Charlton won another playoff final that sent us to the premier league and we did it while being the most sustainable football club ever known!ken_shabby said:If TS sells, will the Addicks to Victory platinum disc go in the museum?
Addicks to victory gets belted out at wembley and sandguards ego quite literally spirals so far out of control...he decides to randomly wear sunglasses while getting interviewed by sky sports.
Then dobson chucks champagne on the back of his head and everyone's going nuts.

Must be bad for someone to resign in the current climate. Was there something specific that happened to them or was it just the general mood around the place?bolloxbolder said:I've missed so many pages on here so apologies if old news. According to Newcastle fans, Ashley once bought a little puppy for his wife and then chucked it out of his helicopter from 5000 feet.
No idea if there is any truth in the rumour.26 -

"The current estimated net worth of Zynex Inc's President, Thomas Sandgaard, is estimated to be about $43.46M. Thomas Sandgaard owns about 12,682,000 units of Zynex Inc common stock.
So his shares alone at todays price are worth over $111m, so how can his net worth only be 43m?7 -
It’s a very modest setup, the training ground currently is just a part of the public park that Home park sits in, there’s plans for a proper facility now some land has been purchased elsewhere.RaplhMilne said:Just as an aside.

He let’s the right people do their jobs. Amazing I know: from my local viewpoint it looks like they’re doing what we did when held up as what can be achieved, and the ground is filling up because they’re playing well simple as that.
Utter bastards.4 -
