Hi all. Just reaching out after yesterday. I really have no idea at the moment what we are trying to achieve as a club and where we are going. I’ve been going to games for 25 years and right now I’m the most un interested and dis engaged I’ve ever been. It’s not even about the results, it’s what we are becoming as a club. Ok people say the club were saved but realistically we are dying in front of our eyes. There is so much wrong both on and off the pitch. I don’t believe all of the negative reports bcus some people have an agenda but I do believe we are in a very very bad place. As a fan if you spend your own money going to watch you want to have an understanding of where that goes, at the moment nobody knows. We are poor in every aspect of how we operate. I’ve been told players salaries, transfers options etc direct from those dealing with them. . . They have no care about these players as humans or people. The level of unprofessionalism is just madness, and I dread to think how certain members running the club are viewed during the wider football world. I don’t mind if we lose games if it appears there is an end goal or a process, but right now I don’t think there is. The quality of personnel we have now compared to under Roland is not even comparable. Vetekole, Buyens, Gudmonson, Aribo, Taylor etc. . . We have declined in every aspect of operating as a club. I don’t think Garner will get sacked as firstly they won’t want to pay the costs to do this and also I really don’t know what sort of credible manager would now want to join us. I’m sure players will be sold in January and i really think we are bang in a relegation battle. I know people like Curbs, Scott Minto and Steve Brown have a job to do on Charlton TV but it must kill them seeing what is happening to this club. We need change. . . And fast but I just don’t think any of it happens.
Don’t know where these rumours on numbers come from.
He will want back what he has spent realistically but hope for more. But know he’d be lucky to walk away at breakeven.
He came with the right intentions, thought it would run itself with a bit of his commercial input but now knows it’s not as simple as he hoped. He will feel let down by some staff, the playing side and some advisors.
He will know in his heart some of his actions and decisions are the main issue but pride and human nature means he doesn’t want to admit that.
If there are genuine buyers out there then they need to step forward quickly.
Joachim Sandgaard and Leo Rifkind are only echoing the Thoughts of TS.
TS made the huge mistake if thinking we have a hard core set of support akin to Sunderland or Sheffield Wednesday. By hardcore, I mean the numbers turning up regardless of what kind of shyte is served up. We are nowhere near their loyal levels.
I disagree, to an extent.
Sunderland fans will likely always turn up to watch a load of crap and they have a more loyal fanbase as they live and breathe football, but if they had to put up with the yoyo nature and continuous repetitive off field struggles of Charlton which doesn't seem to end, I think a chunk of them also would have drifted off.
The stadium of light has and had a lot of empty patches in it from what I remember. They don't sell out their home ground very often.
No chance they drift off. Attendances obviously going to be lower in League 1 but they’ll be back, something not guaranteed for us. They might not sell out often but they’ve had ownership issues and still have large attendances. We can’t compare ourselves to the likes of Sunderland or Wednesday, but I’m not surprised Sandgaard did.

Lucky to walk away at break even? He’ll be lucky to get 10% of his losses, the club is worthless.
I don't like to make a comparison between Duchatelet and Sandgaard, but the comparisons can't be ignored in terms of ownership of Charlton. Both made fortunes in their respective fields, Duchatelet in semi-conductors and Sandgaard in medical supplies, they then get into a football club and firmly believe they can make a success of this club with very little outlay, they listen to nobody, they are right even in the face of undeniable evidence. They both at some point influence team selection if not tactics despite employing managers with far greater experience than them, when it goes wrong, they sack those managers, costing them more money. The supporters are not supporters, they are consumers/customers even though the supporters of this club, through their history, know the club's financial history better than they ever will. They then reach a point where they have run up debts that their business plan is wholly responsible for and want that money back in its entirety. It amazes me how we keep getting these people turn up on our doorstep, they both could have kept their losses down if they would have put the right people in charge and listened, both are unlikely to regain their lost outlay while we try to find another owner who will have to deal with two deluded individuals before managing to save the club.
Finishing lower midtable in league one every season for the next 5 + years. Somethings gotta change one way or another. By that I don't mean get relegated!
Can we also stop suggesting our own fans dont have the required continuous loyalty for whatever is thrown our way. That attitude doesn't help and its just another way of giving up. It's shooting ourselves in the foot.
Oh dear this is all turning very sad. From high Hope's to what we have now in 2 years. I think it safe to say that "project premiership in 5 years" has failed. The ownership is now at a stage where they are having to try to use smoke & mirrors in order to control the messages. Now we have "fake news" being used to explain a couple of negative twitter posts. It is obvious TS has had enough and he is looking to try to stem the losses. Eventually he will bail out. Unfortunately for us I think it far more likely that if he does want £25m for us the terms will be £25m with a deposit of £1 to someone of Bassinis ilk. Such a shame after the recent hope
Can we all perhaps make a pact to hold off from immediately going balls deep and rolling out the red carpet and hero worship with the next potential chancer who turns up with the keys to big top tent of CAFC until they actually demonstrate actions to back up words whoever that may be.
I know that will be difficult given it's in our DNA now from the past 15 years but it may save a fair bit of heartache and dignity down the road.

Indeed, RGT.
Don't want any of that white charger poo on our best red carpet.....
To increase turnover, the owner needs to address what's causing low attendances. Aside from the obvious issue over ticket pricing, the main reason is fans are fed up of seeing us under performing in L1.
The squad needs strengthening first, but whoever the owner is won't find that easy because of the player wage constraint imposed on Clubs in L1 being 60% of turnover, so it won't be a quick fix and expectation levels should be matched according to ranking in those terms. As our turnover has dropped, so has the budget and it follows that new signings have to be lower earners who aren't as good. Perhaps we're seeing that already! The team becomes less competitive, fewer fans will come, turnover will shrink further and so does the budget, the cycle repeating itself.
L1 mediocrity is unacceptable, but the owner, regardless of who it is, can't just spend more on player wages than the EFL allows without risking having a transfer embargo imposed, although it's arguable that we could get better players in for the same money and we're definitely underachieving compared to some of those Clubs with smaller budgets than ours.
For next season though, having the better supported teams in L1 now promoted and the less well supported ones in the Championship relegated should improve our chances. As ever, all fans can do to influence it is to get behind the team and attend in numbers because only by boosting turnover does that constraint get eased to increase the budget.
Reading the link that Carly Burn posted I think TS has very serious problems back home. His company is tanking and his personal finances look to be about to crash. No wonder he's slashing costs at our club like a madman. The writing is definitely on the wall now. Just have to wait and see. One thing is for sure - this situation can't continue. His source of income has dried up.It would appear that we didn't buy a striker because he does not have the money .
I think the question we need to know the answer to is he trying/wanting to sell? If he is, there isn't much we can do. If he isn't then we can try to push him. But I suspect he is. He must know the project isn't working and is very unlikely to work. He probably wants some money back but sadly I can't see that happening and every day he owns the club costs him more even with the savings.

I’m not sure any club in the South has that level of commitment from their fans.
I would point out West Ham. Even Portsmouth. We have never had a core support of more than 6000. Even in the prem days I felt most where there because it was a cheap prem game not because it was Charlton playing.

He'd definitely be an out & out winner on " Call my bluff" !

Apologies in order to @Maccn05 from me that is for sure.
You were right early on and I apologise.

We are completely and utterly effed, aren't we?
