If either Wales or Northern Ireland qualify, their games are all 8pm UK time. Almost as if they've been set up on the assumption that Italy will qualify and will be the big attraction in the group, so the games are at 9pm Italian time. Which to be fair isn't an unreasonable assumption.Callumcafc said:CONFIRMED:England v Croatia in DALLAS - Wed 17/6, 9pm UK time

And he told the Americans off for calling it "soccer". He must be a Lifer 'cos he repeated what I said on here about 10 mins later.siblers said:

They'll have S.Korea, S.Africa and Mexico. It'll be a fun group
Also, that was one of the worst things I've ever seen ever. Felt bad for the woman who was presenting with Rio, he's an awful gobshite

Booking flights/hotels for a tournament like this feels like a military operation requiring speed, efficiency and of course a fair bit of money you're willing to part with.
Here's my itinerary so far (very much subject to change):
14-16th June - Chicago (sightseeing)
16th-18th - Dallas (England v Croatia)
18th-20th - Nashville (sightseeing)
20th-22nd - Memphis (sightseeing)
22nd-25th - Boston (England v Ghana)
25th-28th - New York/New Jersey (England v Panama)
28th-29th - Philadelphia (sightseeing)
29th-30th - Washington DC (sightseeing)
30th June - July 2nd - Atlanta (England in R32, as long as they top the group).
Happy to meet up with any other Addicks heading out there.

youve got that locked in quickly Tom
I might look you up at some point
I think I'm skipping Dallas, I will likely be starting in ATL from 18-22, then Boston and NY... then will see.
Thankfully I have free digs in NYC with a mate, and I also have a pal in Toronto so may go there for a bit between games even if we don't play there
A possible tie in Mexico City in R16 is the one that really excites me, potentially against them...1 -
That R16 game in Mexico City (potentially) is the one I'll be really gutted to miss out on.
Have always wanted to visit the Azteca Stadium, as its arguably the greatest World Cup stadium of all time. Pele and Maradona both won the World Cup there. To see England play a World Cup game there against the hosts would be an outrageous tick on the bucket list.6 -
I'd imagine quite a few people will book the 6 July off or 'work from home' that day.

That would be something else Tom....good itinerary btw....went pass the Azteca in a taxi back in 1998.cafctom said:That R16 game in Mexico City (potentially) is the one I'll be really gutted to miss out on.

Flying in to Dallas on 16 June stay for 4 nights then internal flight to Boston, there for four nights and then the AMTRAK to NYC for the final group game. Fly back from NYC on 28th.That's it until we get to the final - flights will be booked on the red eye out of Heathrow as we are all at a wedding on the 18th July!).3

Going to do the same, but head home after the 2nd group game in Boston. Will go back out for the R16 in Mexico and QF Miami games if we get there.bobmunro said:Flying in to Dallas on 16 June stay for 4 nights then internal flight to Boston, there for four nights and then the AMTRAK to NYC for the final group game. Been to Dallas before for Wrestlemania. Felt like a 45 min taxi journey from Dallas to the stadium. Amazing city Dallas, but the worst sporting venue location ever been too. Must have taken 2+ hours to get an uber back to the city.
Conflicted as the 2nd/3rd group stage are the most straightforward and easiest to attend, but don’t really want to go all that way to see us play against two weak nations.
The last 16 in Mexico City seems like a bucket list sporting event, but looks expensive. Will either do a combo of Panama/L32 or L32/L16.
Personally, I cannot see any scenario when we don’t win the group,0 -
Shouldn’t this be in the Holiday 2026 thread? 🤓cafctom said:Booking flights/hotels for a tournament like this feels like a military operation requiring speed, efficiency and of course a fair bit of money you're willing to part with.

Tv schedule is sorted. The knockouts are all BBC if England progress
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cgjnd28w56po7 -
Something that may be of relevance to anyone planning to go to a game in the USA who doesn't travel there regularly - there's been an announcement that they're going to start asking for much more information from people applying for the visa waiver that Brits need when we go there. The demands sound quite onerous and seem to include details of social media accounts. The reports I've seen don't go into detail about what sort of social media posting would be considered unacceptable - I've seen all sorts of rumours but nothing actually firm. It does seem however that, given the things last 2 years, if you don't currently have a waiver it might be a good idea to apply now rather than waiting and having to do a lot more paperwork.
The BBC article on this refers to a similar requirement about social media for student visas, which already exists, from which it seems that they aren't worried about people making jokes about the President (phew) but that people who are outspoken about Israel might struggle. It also, crucially, points out that the big increase in paperwork may mean it takes longer to get a waiver than it used to, which would be another good reason to apply early.

Those England kickoff times are 3pm, 4pm and 5pm local time, meaning that it could be seriously hot for all 3 games. I know they've said there will be hydration breaks in all fixtures but that's not fooling anybody, those are advert breaks for USA broadcasters.Callumcafc said:CONFIRMED:England v Croatia in DALLAS - Wed 17/6, 9pm UK time

We shouldn't be surprised that FIFA gives not one shit for player welfare, but dressing up Infantino's venal commercialism as such is a new low. With his tongue jammed firmly up the Potus's baggy arse he won't be taking responsibility when players suffer heat exhaustion and sure as hell won't care that the spectacle will be worse because of the conditions.
Truth is the TV audience in the better supported nations will be barely affected by kick off times.2 -
The proposals are out for a two month consultation and will be implemented before the WCSwindon_Addick said:Something that may be of relevance to anyone planning to go to a game in the USA who doesn't travel there regularly - there's been an announcement that they're going to start asking for much more information from people applying for the visa waiver that Brits need when we go there. A few things for you to consider as you are planning Tom. 3 days per location with two of them travel days may feel like you are traveling more than sightseeeing. You might want consider picking one of Nashville/Memphis and staying longer. While they are different there is some overlap in experiences between the two cities that may feel a little similar. Same goes with Philadelphia and Washington DC.cafctom said:Booking flights/hotels for a tournament like this feels like a military operation requiring speed, efficiency and of course a fair bit of money you're willing to part with.

Also on a side note, Dallas in summer is ungodly hot and is also potentially the least interesting city in America.
Personally I find Boston and Nyc more enjoyable than Philadelphia (where I live) andDC if there is any consideration in adjusting your itinerary to stay longer in those two cities.1 -
I’ve just had a look at the stadium maps in regard to ticket pricing. 4 categories of tickets, green being the cheapest. Look how little effing space there is for the “cheap” seats 😂
FIFA said Cat 4 is an accessible price point for the tournament. What an absolute joke
This tournament will be one big flop from a commercial standpoint, no doubt in my mind8 -
Boston and New York shouldn't be too bad in June, but Dallas will be roasting and humid.Billy_Mix said:

Can't agree that the tv audience wouldn't be affected by KO times. Obviously if we kick off at 9pm UK time then more people are going to watch than if we were playing at 3am.0
