Never seen him play. Hope he is decent and good luck to him if he signs. We certainly need more midfield goals.
Not related to Payne himself and purely an observation but if he signs we will have taken 3 players from Swindon..
None of them finished in the top 4 of the Swindon Player of the Year award last season (Mckirdy, Reed, Iandolo, Williams) and Swindon were knocked out of the play offs.

Mind you, Sunderland fans claimed Dobson was a disaster of a player who looked like a dog chasing a balloon, so can't read too much into differing fans opinions.0 -

A mate of mind is a big Southend fan where Payne came through, and has followed his career fairly closely since he left them.
'Good player but teams always find it difficult to slot him in the side, potential to be a bit of a luxury player but use him correctly and he'll do well for you'0 -

Looks good in that video…they always do.
I was impressed by some quick positive decision making, his speed of reaction and his waspishness.
He also looks to keep his shots down, unlike Albie.1 -
