Comments

  • MacG: 6 - seemed slightly more confident and had been clearly told to come for the ball as his team mates made a big fuss of him twice when he did so
Clare: 6.5 - terrible sliced clearance late on almost let them in but not too bad otherwise
    Lavelle: 8 - played well
    Purrington: 7.5 - good game
Dobson: 6.5 - drifted in and out , disappeared at times.
    Matthews: 7 - solid
Gilbey: 8.5 - good first half, nice goal, faded as the game went on
Fraser: 8 - did well, we suffered when he went off
B-T: 9 MOM made the goal and was prepared to run at them and shoot from distance
Stockley: 8 - bulled around a lot to no great effect
Washington: 8 - not stop running performance all game but needs to cut out silly fouls
Lee: 3.5 - extra mark for his Tony Watt antics but otherwise poor
    Referee: 7 - mostly good
Opposition: 7 - looked like a poor side who may well go down

Pearce: n/a - seemed an odd substitution, luckily he didn’t have much to do

MacG: 6 - Claimed a ball in the box like a real keeper. Distributions wank.
Clare: 7 - Back to how he first looked at CB.
Lavelle: 7 - Like him a lot, will grow into the club I feel.
Purrington: 6 - Nothing stood out, and as was out of position gets a 6.
Dobson: 6.5 - Lacking a bit last night but still does a lot for the team.
Matthews: 6 - Played fairly well
Gilbey: 8 - The running is back and didn't hide behind the oppo players for the second half. Must of had more shots alone than the whole team in the 3 games prior.
Fraser: 7.5 - Can see what he brings, amazing what happens when you don't lump the ball over his head
B-T: 8.5 - Best player on the pitch by far, direct.
Stockley: 6 - Still getting up to speed.
Washington: 6 - Still getting up to speed (but still ran himself into the ground, machine)
Lee: 5 - If football was about running into and kicking the ball into the opposition players he'd be great. It isn't though. He isn't though.

Referee: 6 - Meh, average but nothing too bad.
Opposition:  4 - Utter wank, thankfully.

  • MacG: 6 - came for a couple of crosses. Slow to release the ball. Needs to build up his confidence.
    Clare: 7
Lavelle: 6 - Oliver troubled him, especially in the air.
    Purrington: 6.5
Dobson: 7 - a couple of errors but he reads danger very well.
    Matthews: 6.5
Gilbey: 7.5 - well after several appalling performances we get to see what Gilbs can do when given the room. helps having washington ahead of him.
Fraser: 6.5 - wanted the ball alot. need more from him with his attacking play. worked well with BT on the wing.
B-T: 7 - Just like how he played against Gillingham before, a real threat. Tired in the second half. Only worry with our formation is against a side who also has a threat on their wing how long can he sustain running back to defend and then going forward on an attacking run?
Stockley: 7 - works hard. Need him not only for his forward play but for his leadership and for his defensive work.
Washington: 7 - Runs. A LOT. wish we could supply him with some decent forward balls rather than getting him to run for lofted balls into the wide positions.

May have to swap from the covered end to the west stand next year. The old eyesight is a bit dodge, and can hardly make out the players if they’re up the south stand end.

  • MacG: 6 I arrived 10mins late, so missed the 1st min throw on "flap", but thought he was pretty composed and distributed well
Clare: 6 lots of energy and a brilliant challenge in the 2nd half, although flagged offside
Lavelle: 5 knocks the ball around well, but got beaten in the air a lot. Not convinced yet.
    Purrington: 6 did a job
Dobson: 7 was instrumental in switching play from wing to wing which wore Gills down eventually
    Matthews: 6 pretty solid
Gilbey: 7 benefitted from the ball sticking up front and exploited the gaps Stockley and Washington created. Looked up for it for a change
Fraser: 6 not overly impressed so far, but like the way he's constantly on the move and demanding the ball. More to come I'm sure
B-T: 8 MOTM was a real menace. Great to have him back
Stockley: 7 worked his nuts off
    Washington: 7 ditto
Lee: 4 he's had some stormers this season, but yesterday wasn't one of them! Thanks  but no thanks
Referee: 6 average, not awful. not helped the ACS lino who was completely inept
Opposition: 1 useless. I've given them a point just for the sheer ridiculousness of a fan throwing a smoke bomb onto the pitch to celebrate their first shot on goal. What was that all about?
