Wonder how much of the game he got to see from the subs bench
Sure that's not the Full Members cup game we had Selhurst? Were Birmingham the opposition?
It's possible ! I wouldn't say the crowd was small for Cafc v Birmingham at Selhurst but it's the only Charlton game I've been too when they announced the crowd changes to the players!
I see he came on for Sierra Leone in around the 60th min in a 2-0 loss
We have a new international!
Good for him and always nice to have another international on our books. More football can only help his development (injuries allowing).
It’s another reason for young lads to be part of the youth set up at Charlton, first team football will come and it’ll come early if they are good enough and in getting there they will come to the attention of their ‘home’ country.
No doubt he will have loved the experience... imagine how bizarre it must feel to play international competitive football against a team with Mo Salah (arguably African football's most recognisable name) in it.
Watched the second half of the match. Kanu made a difference when he came on, partly because Sierra Leone changed formation chasing the game. He took up some good positions and was scuppered with a couple of half chances because of what looked like an artificial pitch. A good cameo I thought.
A real shame for Kanu we are likely to recall him I think. He could really do with more first team football starts. Whilst he scored 4 in one game for Southend he now has 6 appearances for them but 'just' the 4 goals. Not sure how many minutes he has played in that 6 games.
If we bring him back we will lose him in January. To be honest, I don’t really know who we are going to lose all these to players to. Losing him and Leaburn would be careless. Losing just Leaburn who be a misfortune.
Shame they have felt the need to bring him back early due to Leaburn injury.
Long term thinking, the best for Kanu is to stay at Southend and play 80+ minutes per game while gaining experience in men’s football. I wonder if he’ll go back again if we make a quality forward signing in January.

Looking up the stadium, the Stade Ben Ahmed El Abdi is in Morocco, right by the Mediterranean?
Surely there's a stadium closer by than bloody Morocco! It's a 10 hour flight

When Tony Watt won his only Scotland cap back in 2016 he was a Charlton player but on loan at Blackburn Rovers when he earned that cap
The club handbooks make no mention of Watt gaining a cap
Young Daniel will more than likely gain a cap for Sierra Leone when he is back at the club from his loan spell
