Blustery mate, but no rain.Croydon said:@ElfsborgAddick what's the weather up there?0 -
Snow on the midlands isn’t going to help trains0

Any alternative routes possible by train or coach from Birmingham?0
-
There’s an option to get a bus from Stafford to Telford and then another one to Shrewsbury from there. Similar options from Wolverhampton (again via Telford I think but double check) but obviously these are quite slow (Stafford via Telford seems to be 2 hours plus)1

Train is 75 minutes on a normal service.se9addick said:Any alternative routes possible by train or coach from Birmingham?0 -

Stopped snowing here in Nottingham about an hour ago - I was driving to the game anyway fortunately0
-
Delays on trains from Birmingham til midday apparently0
-
Is anyone driving through Hereford en route to the game? @big in brasov and I are marooned here, with no trains for hours and his car not likely to last the journey!0
-
Anybody getting to the station and not wanting to sod around, there are plenty of taxis.
Station to ground otherwise is a pain.0 -
Train via Crewe seems best bet0
-
Never ceases to amaze me how ill equipped this country is to deal with any change in the weather.
You think with the high prices of train tickets there would be some decent infrastructure in place.0 -
Is this the so called "public transport" that we are constantly told we have to use otherwise we are killing the planet if we use our cars.Croydon said:Never ceases to amaze me how ill equipped this country is to deal with any change in the weather.

Get proper infrastructure in place with buses & trains running more frequently then the public might change over.3 -
A tree on the line is a pretty valid reason for the problems

Anyone here at Crewe? My dad and I are gonna get a taxi to the game if anyone wants to share. No luck with trains at all0

How long does it take to move, all day? No reason for anything after midday to be delayed through there.killerandflash said:A tree on the line is a pretty valid reason for the problems3 -
But HS2 is a southern rich man's white elephant....Croydon said:Never ceases to amaze me how ill equipped this country is to deal with any change in the weather.

They have to remove a tree from a remote location and check the track and embankment etc for any damage. It's not a quick jobCroydon said:

Edit wrong thread0

It's not one tree. There are trees down all over the rail network, it was a major storm last nightCroydon said:
