After last week's shit show, I'd like to know what they can't come out in the first minute and play with the same urgency as they did in the 94th f****** minute.
Regardless of the terrible football and tactics, that alone is enough reason to sack Adkins. Sandgaard has backed him financially and this is some of the worst football I’ve ever seen.
I never want a man to lose his job and I certainly would chant about it, but something monumental has to change.
That sounded bloody awful....something has to give and I think it has to be Adkins, but as I said on the match thread JJ is not the answer. We sounded bereft of ideas, fight and passion; 1 shot on target in 95 mins tells the story! Who will come in, I have no idea, it certainly wont be Wilder or|Howe and Houghton wouldn't be my choice either!! However not an idea who it could be, but it has to change and quickly. I have a decision to make about next week now....do I travel down for the Portsmouth game with all the time spent on the road and it turning into another 14 hour day.....or do I stay at home and watch the Ryder Cup! The Ryder Cup is looking favourite at the moment!!
Not sure how Nige can survive this. We’ve all seen this before in the championship when we were relegation fodder. Sandgard need to act now to stop the rot.
Gills stuffed at home today. If we go there on Tuesday and fail to get anything but a convincing win I think we will see changes at the top. No excuses about bedding players in ffs. CBT has to start, rather barker than gunter, deji for pearce, lee starts, stockley doesnt, my brief thoughts on stopping the rot
Highlight was watching the red kites circling above the ground. The team is devoid of passion, ideas, confidence and strategy. We’re a fourth division team at the moment and that’s where we’re heading unless something changes quickly.
No faith in this manager or the players. Awful stuff, this is possibly the worst Charlton team I’ve seen, and we’ve had some crap. He has to go for me, give it to Jacko and see how we go. Davison did more in 10 minutes than Stockley has done in 3 games. He needs to be dropped.
Gunter can do one, Charlie Barker is a better option than him and less of a liability. It’s going to be a long season.
Bringing Jackson to the post could not be progress. Surely he has input and is part of the blame. IF we are to out Adkins I'd bring in Warnock and shake things up.
Not good enough though and we need to turn things around fast if we are to have any chance of playoffs.
Personally think it's a mix of the players, manager, SMT and owner that are at fault.
To pin it on Adkins alone isn't fair. Hard to argue Houghton would be an exciting replacement though.
Not half as shit? That was atrocious. Utterly pathetic after last week.
I say this with total rationality and no agenda against Adkins; that was the worst half of football I’ve seen in 35 years. No game plan. No tactical plan. That’s on Adkins.
Why isn't it fair to pin it on Adkins, surely he had some input in signing these players? I'm beginning to think he is making Karel Fryeoo(??) (the clown in Duchelets time) look good. Adkins never a fit for this club. Rapidly becoming our worst British manager since the war! Done well at Scunthorpe, so what. Michael Duff showed much more football knowledge last week. Give Jacko and Jason with maybe Curbs a chance please. At least Bowyer mostly had a team with guts and spirit. Not like these no-hopers!
What I don’t understand is how Adkins got so much out of the players (who didn’t seem to be playing for Bowyer) last season, and now some of these are his players, but they are seemingly not playing for him. Anyone got an explanation?
the explanation is, Adkins was a good manager 10 years ago, he is the 10 years before yesterday's man .. players know who can and who can't manage and motivate and they just won't respond for a rubbish talking chancer .. Adkins no longer has the ability to be a successful football/man manager .. the players gave him a chance and responded in the short term, the honeymoon was over weeks ago
Bit harsh calling him a chance. Of course he would take the job, I'd lay the blame at whoever looked to appoint him.
The wasted pre season and transfer strategy put us in this difficult position to a large degree really. And doesn't seem like Adkins knows how to use what he does have at his disposal at this stage.
Lmao people still saying give Curbs ago when he has done nothing yet in the time since curb stopped managing Adkins has got a team successive promotions and saved a side from relegation and gave them the building blocks to grow.
I am definitely beginning to agree that he's not good enough to turn these players though.
All opinions but I'm not sure TS deserves the criticism going his way, we have a decent squad of players who should be performing a lot better than they are. There has been clear investment in the team and we have gone out and bought decent players. Sure everyone wanted more but I think bar Ipswich every fan in League One wants their team to sign more players.
I've posted before that it's not just about results for me, our style of play has been dire for ages now. We have no identity other than hoof-ball, the worst thing is we're not even any good at it. NA would get away with a poor brand of football if we were getting results, however he isn't and when you play terrible football and don't win games of football it's a bad combination.
The worst thing for me is I've kind of mentally checked out of NA's reign, I was a firm supporter of LB right up until he left however I genuinely wouldn't be fussed if I heard NA was gone tonight.(Except of course that a person has lost his job which I would never wish on anyone). I can't be bothered listening to his post match comments because it is just the same old stuff on repeat, people moaned about Bowyer being to open and honest in his post match conferences yet we have almost gone the other way with NA who just produces sound-bites. If you've heard one of his post match interviews you've heard them all.
The chants during the match are never a good sign and I think when you have fans chanting that you haven't got a clue it's a tough situation to come back from, I was thinking the same about Steve Bruce last night.

Maybe a 442 Nigel?

Second season syndrome Charlton style.
4-4-2 with Stockley and Leko upfront.
NADS will be gone by the end of the month.

Who knows where we go from here.
