Sad reality is Innis can't really be first choice. Can't say I've heard of Lavelle but having read the replies to the above I'm excited by him. Welcome Sam.
Seems a decent signing. Good back up for Innis and very much a ‘grow with the club/best of the league’ type player. Three year deal too. Wonder if he was the plan B to Kerr?

I can't profess to know much about him but comments from Morecambe fans seem positive, he's a big unit too and presumably won't break down on the regular like Inniss.
3 year deal doesn't suggest he's just in as cover either, looks like he's intended to play a part to me.

Funny looking at how similar Kerr and Lavelle appear.. Both Scottish, 24 y/o club captains who've represented their clubs over 100 times. Football manager search from SG?
On May 31st 2021 Lavelle captained Morecambe in their League Two play-off final victory, in doing so securing promotion to League One for the Shrimps for the first time in the club's history. This resulted in many supporters regarding him as one of the clubs' all time greats.
Then he forces a deadline day move to big boys school with Charlton Athletic. The snake.
Never heard of him but signing Morecambe's captain who led them to promotion from League Two looks like the Matt Taylor signing of the 11/12 promotion team. Very pleased with this and means we don't need to rely on Innis who along with Lavelle, Famewo and Pearce means we shouldn't have to worry about CB position any time soon.
Really like the look of this, young but experienced and on a long term contract. Captained a promotion winning team.
6 ft 3 so we don’t lose that height when he plays instead of Inniss and takes the pressure off Elewere.
Great to have 5 first team CBs after what happened last season. So important we have a strong spine and this should really help that.
It also means Pearce shouldn’t play too often - looks like that random Facebook rumour that he’d be 5th choice was right.
My guess has been for a while that we went for some ambitious targets early on and missed out. He probably wasn’t one of our top targets but doesn’t mean he can’t be a big success.

CB is so so important, so pleased we have decent options there.
Pleased with this one, CB is a position where you need plenty of decent options, as CBs get whacked and will pick up the odd red card. Plus, there's the option of 3 at the back as well.
I've been getting frustrated with the way we're having to wrap Inniss in cotton wool this season, you don't want to keep having to use up one of your 3 subs on a CB swap.
Shows a bit of savvy/gamesmanship in the market by Gallen & Co as well IMO. Wigan gazump us for one option by throwing money at it so we sign another of comparable quality but for a third of the cost.

"For me our club have undervalued Sam.
If £200K+ is the agreed fee then Charlton have got a bargain when looking at what other clubs are paying for a central defender. "
