  • I am.

Your 50% Italian must feel confident after seeing England defending against the 5 knackered Danes and the 5 Danish subs that aren't top international players.

Henderson, Foden and Grealish are great subs to come on and not sure what the Trippier for Grealish was all about and letting the Danes have the ball.

Fantastic effort by Denmark, but once Christensen, Damsgaard and Delaney went off they were there for the taking but football has changed to conserving energy for the seven match challenge to win a final.
Bit extra in defence, and to be fair the Trippier/Walker overlap was how we got the ball out of our own half and played down the clock about 4 or 5 times during those 15mins.
  • This ain't like I thought it would be
  • Just thought it would be different.
Outside my house in west Wickham for the last 15 minutes and it's like nothing happened

    Nah
    Bollocks were in the final
  • One more jinx for Southgate to beat...

     - We've never beaten Italy in a Major Tournament
I was looking at the history of our games against them & was very surprised that we have only played them 8 times competitively. Our of those.......

    4 of those were in WC qualifiers (2 home & 2 away - 1970's & 1990's)

1 was in the Group stage of a major tournament - WC 2014

1 was the 3rd/4th play off game at Italia 90 - and no-one wants to play in that game.

1 was in the knockout stages of Euro 2012 where we lost on pens.

Staggering when we always seem to play the Czechs or Poland every single tournament.

Walker, Maguire, Rice, Shaw and Sterling were the pick for me but all superb. Bring on Italy.
  • Maybe it's a soft penalty but you can't argue now there is VAR. If it wasn't a pen it would have been ruled out. That's what VAR was brought in for.

Justice for Lampard's "goal" back in 2010.
  • Heard horns on and off Orpington High Street all night. Great to hear

We look so much better than we did even 2 years ago. Phil Foden and Jack Grealish deserve bigger roles in this side but it’s so hard to fit everyone in. I respect that now.

We can progress evened further, but for right now English football is in a fantastic place.
I think we can build on this in the next few years and play with more flair. The future looks good.
  • I expressed my doubts before the game, but Walker was excellent tonight. Kane was excellent, but got away with a terrible penalty, Sterling was also excellent, but his finishing wasn't up to his standard this tournament.

Pickford had one of his rocky Everton nights. Shaw wasn't as good as in his previous games going forward, and got caught out a bit defensively. The CBs looked a bit shakier on the ball than usual, though a lot of that is down to the pressing from Denmark, but both were excellent in the air.
  • I thought we controlled the game pretty well. Pickford was the weak link all night. Italy will cause more problems but I feel their defence is better than their attack

Now we can talk about Italy.

33 games unbeaten and England don't beat Italy in Tournament football. There's a first time for everything but I personally make Italy favourites despite it being at Wembley.

Getting the monkey off our back and getting to a final was so important but working out a way to beat Italy should be interesting.

Foden could get the nod instead of Saka, and we go with 4-2-3-1 but the way Sterling and Kane seem to interchange it's anyone guess who the one is up front which is great as Italy will be confused as well.
We could play 4-3-3 and it will be hard to tell the difference as we don't play a rigid system anyway.

Our players still seem to have energy. 6 games played and 1 humongous game to go.
