  • Spot the balls competition.
Knew we were going to score when I saw the other ball. Felt like a "there's some people on the pitch...they think it's all over" moment

Cant believe that ITV have managed to find anyone more irritating that Tyldesley but fcuk me they’ve managed it. Matterface and his annoying little chum Pougach are quite the pair.
Thank goodness we can watch the final on the BBC. And as for Ashley Cole, he makes Clinton Morrison look good!

Can I have a promote for starting the thread and essentially bringing us good luck in reaching the final of a major tournament for the first time in 55 years?

I’m available for the final if you want me.

Haven't checked the records, but I'm wondering if Southgate is the first England manager to get us to the last three of a major competition.

    Credit where it's due.
    Alf Ramsey did it.
    Yes, good spot.

    How did that end up?

Extraordinary and a tribute to the squad management that we have no injuries. Indeed the only injury we picked up throughout the tournament was a minor one for Saka
It's testament to the coaching, quality and speed of the premier league that these players are so fit.

Unbelievable to see how much pace Sterling had 115 minutes into the game. I don't think any of them looked tired after 120 minutes - especially crazy when you think of the games they've played over the last 2 seasons.
It probably helped Sterling that he didn't play that much for City at the end of the season.

I thought we should have had a penalty when Kane went down.

The ref was in a good position for the Sterling penalty.

We deserved it overall after Denmark tired. You can't complain because we won, but with 10 men in the final ET half, the only way we could throw it away was playing defensive with an extra man. But we did it so who cares.

I wonder how Thomas Sandgaard took the 2-1 defeat to a soft penalty ?

Breaking news..... Josh Parker signs for Cafc to replace Chuks Aneke.

Posting without reading, mainly because I'm incapable of reading much. Wasn't pretty but we needed to go 1 down to pass the test. Slightly fortunate, don't really care, in the final, absolutely fuming I have an incredibly important work meeting at 9am on Monday.

I thought Sterling got some contact from the defender and the minute the ref decided it was sufficient, there was no way VAR would overturn it. It would have been the same if he decided the contact wasn't sufficient  so I suppose we were a bit lucky although I think it was a 50:50. Kane's earlier one was too, but the ref didn't give that one!

In real time it is a pen. Sterling is running so fast that the two tackles send him flying.
a super slo mo doesn’t show his momentum being stopped
but anyway, the bitter home nations can rage on through the night because.....

    it’s coming home!

I have to admit I spent the last couple of minutes of the game shouting at Matterface and Dixon to shut up about us going to be in the final etc, as I was convinced they were going to jinx us, and Denmark would get a jammy equaliser to take us into penalties. That said, I find Tyldesley just as annoying.

Walker was immense. His pace is an unbelievable safety net at the back.

We were the better side bar 20 minutes of the first half. Deserved winners.

Did I hear Ashley Cole praise Calveit lewin as being pivotal to this squad post match?

Sterling and Kane will (rightly) get a load of praise, but I also thought Walker and Maguire had really, really good games.
100%. I thought Maguire and Stones had a few shaky moments first half and it was Walker particularly (and Rice once or twice) who covered for them brilliantly. Maguire was superb after HT, as was Stones. Denmark never looked like scoring.

    I am.

Your 50% Italian must feel confident after seeing England defending against the 5 knackered Danes and the 5 Danish subs that aren't top international players.

Henderson, Foden and Grealish are great subs to come on and not sure what the Trippier for Grealish was all about and letting the Danes have the ball.

Fantastic effort by Denmark, but once Christensen, Damsgaard and Delaney went off they were there for the taking but football has changed to conserving energy for the seven match challenge to win a final.
