Or he is just concentrating on the playing side of things and as such, just doesn't know 100% but just the initial targets!Bedsaddick said:

Think you just like having a pop at everyone and everything.1 -
Brought in as cover to Watson and Gilbey being out, I reckon. Will only be offered a contract if he looks great in training, maybe a deal til Jan when we reassess, especially if JFC is back close to then?killerandflash said:A little bit surprising that the only triallist we've had all summer is a central midfielder, a position where we're relatively well catered for anyway
If we really wanted to check Gomes out properly, maybe he should have started one of the PSF, instead of coming on later to play alongside the kids?0 -
Has Chuks kicked a ball for Birmingham yet ?0

Nope he is going through the "improvement " process at the momentShootersHillGuru said:Has Chuks kicked a ball for Birmingham yet ?3 -
Did I miss any Lifer rumours today?

Donated to the upbeats regardless of yesterday's post.1 -
Yes. We have signed a player for £1.5m. It’s on page 495.NapaAddick said:So, since there have been 400 posts the last 24 hours on this thread, rather than read them, can anyone just save me time and tell me if we actually spent any money on incoming? A yes or no is good enough. Thanks.1 -
Lukas Jutkiewicz (Chuks Aneke 71) - that was today. Expect to see this weekly for many months.

Based on the last 2 PSF games how many of those starting deserve to be dropped for the opening league game ?
My point is yes we need strength in depth but we currently have a team imo that will win far more games than they lose this season and I'm sure players will come in to add strength but personally I'm happy with our current starting team5 -
Plenty of people on here said if we kept Inniss and Famewo in the defence we would piss this league, well they are…. An we won’t be. Still hanging on just a little hope …. But, playoffs looking height of our ambition.0

We haven’t played a competitive game and the window is still open. We are slightly behind where we thought but so are most teams.RaplhMilne said:Plenty of people on here said if we kept Inniss and Famewo in the defence we would piss this league, well they are…. Anything is possible.9 -
We need a left back, but if Innis and Famewo play most if the games, plus the more energetic midfield that’ll now line up in front of them, we should prove pretty tough to score against. Pissing the league would be over selling itRaplhMilne said:Plenty of people on here said if we kept Inniss and Famewo in the defence we would piss this league, well they are…. An we won’t be. Playoffs is probably the height of any teams ambitions. Anything more would be arrogant in the extreme. I don’t think any team in league one will stroll it. Not even Ipswich.RaplhMilne said:Plenty of people on here said if we kept Inniss and Famewo in the defence we would piss this league, well they are…. An we won’t be. Speaking of chucks getting game time at brum, be interesting to see how many injuries this brum team get next season.10

Or the clubs and players are both demanding too much and we put our foot down and hold off till they have a reality check closer to the end of the window....addick1956 said:
The last 3 weeks have told us most of that has been wasted.Bedsaddick said:

We either don't bid enough or maybe don't pay enough.
Either way we have a light squad at the moment.14 -
I thought reading on here, that everyone who’s signed everywhere else, means we’re as good as relegated?2

What does he expect NA to do ? Rob Thomas and buy players or spend his money behind his back hoping he won't notice the new players.ButtleJR said:

Thus is still a "Covid" season. With so many games in League 1 and such a thin squad, we have no chance of promotion as it stands.
The other teams in the same position as us will find the same thing. That's why we need a minimum of 6-8 signings, including loans in, very quickly.

We won't piss the league but if those 2 stay fit (big if of course), then i'd expect us to concede at least 15 less goals over the course of the season.RaplhMilne said:Plenty of people on here said if we kept Inniss and Famewo in the defence we would piss this league, well they are…. Inniss started 12 games last season and we conceded 6 goals.
In the other 34 games, we conceded 50.
A lot of people (myself included) are asking where are the goals going to come from, but with a much more solid defence that doesn't have Pratley and Gunter as it's centre backs, we'll be conceding a lot less and will pick up more points that way, rather than needing to beat teams 3-2 or 4-3.2 -
If it’s a covid season and other teams are in the same boat, why have we got no chance of promotionsupaclive said:Thus is still a "Covid" season. With so many games in League 1 and such a thin squad, we have no chance of promotion as it stands.

Personally I think we are “slightly behind “ having the same squad as last year, which failed to get promoted.Laddick01 said:

From what I have seen we have not improved any positions, we have just replaced players we have sold with a similar standard of player apart of course Chuks who we haven’t replaced at all.

So you don't think that Clare and Dobson are an improvement on Pratley and Watson?eaststandmike said:

Maybe slightly but still early days. As things stand any injuries especially to Stockley or suspensions will cripple us. Based on the comments of TS and NA I was not expecting to be in this position.FishCostaFortune said:

There are some crazy people out there.ButtleJR said:
Adkins came in, managed 10 games, lost 1. Clearly hasn't been given the transfer funds he was promised and there's plenty of stories/rumours about the budget being cut. But yes let's sack him!0 -
I agree we do not have the squad strength to mount a promotion challenge at the moment. A couple of injuries and we are in big trouble. And as ever I don't think TS or NA, or clearly many of clubs, predicted how difficult the transfer market would be this year.eaststandmike said:

Thankfully, looking at pre season, we have a strong first XI who seem to be playing good football and still 4 weeks of transfer window left.
Players will come in, a if they are in the mould of Clare and Dobson then we will be in a very good place.1
