It’s a very short list of assistant managers/coaches that have publicly said something that have undermined the manager at any club. Got a vague memory that Mike Flanagan leaving his coaching role at Charlton was linked to something like that which Lennie sacked him for.stoneroses19 said:

I don't know about this season, but I do, and many do, know that JJ has been a popular person in the dressing room. The behaviours we have witnessed this season are unlike him so reasonable to say they belong solely to Bowyer. He has ambitions to be a manager and as long as the players are likely to get behind him, why not give him the same sort of free hit that Bowyer had?
There are enough experienced players in the dressing room to help him and maybe he can call on them or one or two of them, as his assistants until the end of the season as a temporary measure. He also has Curbs attending every home game to advise. I'd like to see some unity in the dressing room and we might just see the team play to its potential.3 -

Etc, etc, etc. It's not the assistant manager's job to speak to the press, unless the manager is unable to speak to them for whatever reason. Weird that you think he should be doing something that isn't in his job description.

Thanks for the memories Lee, won't ever forget Wembley. I still think very highly of him (plus he's saved TS having to shell out to sack him !) as I've previously stated, was a great bloke the couple of times I've met him and made time and effort to engage with my kids.
TS needs to think hard over the next appointment, no immediate need to rush into it. Whoever takes over now gets a 'free hit' for the rest of the season, plus then a full pre-season backed by the owner.
Ready to welcome fans (and TS) back to the Valley at the start of next season

Sad day, I was hopeful with some of players returning and the investment in January that things would have picked up better than they did. Unfortunately that didnt seem to happen so ultimately both parties shake hands and move on1

Are people seriously saying Steve Brown on the back of talking well on VP. He is a ex pro I would expect him to be able to speak well on a game but being a manager is a bit different. As he knows from being sacked at non league Ebbsfleet

he even made sure he was paid last / late before all club employees and stood with us when he could and maybe should have said no thats it iv had enough
im sure hes had feedback or got wind from staff close to him / sandgaard or players about the online toxic talk of fans and feels a fresh start at a club hes loved and will be appreciated is very appealing right now
hes tried his best and done more than most would have and i appreciate it and wish him all the best and success in the future

Someone also posted earlier that Jackson should have spoken up and criticised Bowyer.
Jacko is Assistant to the manager. To publicly criticise and show disloyalty to your boss is the fast route to your P45 and dismissal.
