  • I love everything about Rhea Ripley.
  • Apparently Saturday night main event will be on Netflix for us and not YouTube this weekend. However, haven’t seen it advertised on their service yet.
It's on YouTube and not Netflix. 🥲
  • Good show last night - was hoping Sheamus would do it but maybe he’ll get it at Mania. Jacob Fatu is absolute money
  • Nah, they're building Bron as the main man and the struggle will make Sheamus's IC title win more. Mania is a better place to do it than SNME.

    Jacob is incredible. So believable.

I don't really like Jey Uso's wrestling, neither do I really like his mic skills, but I've never seen anything like that entrance. It's ridiculous.

He will get pushes for that alone for a long time

From a non-Kayfabe perspective Sheamus I feel kind of "deserves" to get that last title, he's been doing the business for so long and very rarely is he less than great.

The Sandman was a far worse wrestler (if you can even call him that) and had a crazier entrance, although never in a large arena. I don't get Jimmy tbh but he's super over and deserves his push.

One thing about the HHH regime is how the mid card titles mean something again. Wasn't that long ago that I wouldn't have been able to name who the two champions were. Now there's a potential wrestlemania moment for the intercontinental. I would have it as a multi man to avoid Bron getting pinned, although if Bron did get pinned it wouldn't harm him long term IMO.
  • Anyone else see big things in Karion Kross?
  • Clash in Paris PPV on Sunday 31st August. Hopefully, will be a UK in 2025.

I still think we get a big 4 PPV in the next couple of years. We're pushing for WM but I think they appease us with a Royal Rumble or another Summerslam.

  • Has everybody given up on AEW here?
  • Prices for WWE live events have gone mental now. I'm not getting too excited about it.

Pretty much, I check in on what's happening through the recaps on Cageside Seats, but they seem to be in a huge hole right now with booking.

The Death Riders are meant to be the big scary group taking over AEW but are constantly thwarted by guys the size of my sister in Allin and Cassidy, so there's no believability to it, and despite their claims to the contrary, pretty much all their best looking and working talent are ex WWE guys.

Apparently the Australia show was in a 50k seater stadium, got downgraded to a 13k seater stadium, and now they're trying to get people to go by offering 2 for 1 deals on tickets.

Meanwhile WWE have drones flying around the place showing off the fact that even the cheap seats and the restricted seats behind the hard camera are full at every show right now

Yeah. Meanwhile Raw ended with a Cody and CM Punk promo. Extremely annoying and the only possible is the chequebook Bischoff comments can be laid to rest. TNA seems to be going in the right direction though.

Yep, paid over £300 for Level 1 tickets for the Raw and Smackdown shows coming up at the O2... I think the block next to me was £600!

i still follow bits & pieces of AEW.  I can't see them being in business in the next 2 years. So much money & so much potential, but no creative direction whatsoever & I think the viewing figures & attendances reflect that. It's such a shame.

On a separate note, I watched the TNA PPV the other day & was very impressed

They'll still be around. It's a rich man's hobby and not run as a business.
  • I'm going to go to Clash in Paris, gonna cost a lot but I'll save. I'm probably going to vlog the experience as well, will be my first PPV. I've done house shows, RAWs, Smackdowns, Butlins etc, but never a PPV, want to make something special of it.

On a side note, I managed to pick up an authenticated signed Kurt Angle ultimate edition figure for 55 quid, absolutely buzzing with it.
  • Not sure what to make of Rhodes atm as well. Thought his last two promos have been pretty weak. I really like Rhodes as well, but feel Owens is stealing the show in his promos, and Punk came across better in their promo.

Does anyone else feel the same, or am I being harsh?
  • I've never got Cody.

French fans are the best in the world imo.

Not sure if it's him personally or more that his character is just a lot less interesting than Owens or Punk's at the minute. He's just got less to work with.

    It's beacuse Owens is right!

I think when it was the 'finishing the story angle' it worked well cause it was the classic redemption arc and he's a fantastic underdog. Now he's got the belt, and doesn't have Roman as a dance partner, it doesn't feel the same.

I think he has a great look, great theme, he looks like a poster boy, and he's a good wrestler, but I'm just not enjoying this stint as much.

Makes me appreciate Roman Reigns more. I actually think bloodline Reigns is one of the best heels of all time.

I really like the idea of Roman having a dispute with the Rock, being pushed over as a pure baby face again, and facing a full heel Cody who has started to get a bit desperate defending his belt. I also like the idea of Cody having a stable similar to the Bloodline.

Heel Cody is going to be so good if it happens. He has played the good guy so well, but he is made for the bad guy.

Would love to be a fly on the wall in the creative teams office to see what they have planned.
  • I've seen theories that the long term plan is that Cody "cracks" under pressure, maybe if Orton goes heel too on top of Owens that's his two "allies" both turned on him and he decides if he can't beat them, join them.
Alternatively he goes fully self-righteous and turns heel while still convinced he's a face but that's retreading ground Owens has literally just covered (and others before of course.)
  • I also want them to do more with Gunther.

He has the look, I love how serious they're trying to make him look, but again, something is missing.

I look at Rhea Ripley at the moment with her entrance music and general look and she just has it. Gunter has that potential, he just doesn't have the right theme imo, and his match vs Jey was pants.

I'd like to see him billed as a Goldberg/Lesnar type. I don't like the idea of him having close matches vs Jey Uso. Doesn't suit him right now for me personally.

Strange, thought it would make sense to do Cena as it's his final year.

Gunther is great, but that belt is billed as the secondary world title. Having two world titles has never made sense to me.
  • Very unlike Triple H to make everything about himself.

Indeed, it was Nick Khan's decision.
  • I don't think HHH has made much about himself in quite a while. It's a long time from when people posted shovel memes about him when he was in the back end of his career
