I don't think there will be a points deduction as that will only serve to punish the current owners, rather than those responsible.

It's an unusual case, so what the sanctions will be and to whom I do not know. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out for sure..

Swindon Town Football Club is planning to purchase its County Ground home for £2.3m in a joint venture with a supporters group.

The ground is currently owned by Swindon Borough Council and the authority's cabinet will meet on 16 March to make decision on the sale.

The County Ground Stadium Custodians Trust aims to carry out a number of improvements if it is successful.

Perhaps we could show this to Roland and suggest that £2.3m is about the right price for The Valley but, perhaps, leave a bit for him in the negotiations and agree say £2.4m instead!

If a football ground in Swindon, Wiltshire is worth £2.3m it will be worth a lot more in SE London.

The council here is absolutely desperate for money, selling everything it can. So this would be a very good time to try to buy the County Ground. And rather more popular locally than closing the museum or leaving the Oasis to fall down.
