Shame. I can only imagine its been a progressive injury as no mention of a direct/forceful impact. Another player who hardly gets injured but has managed to pick up 'an unusual one' with us!

The only blessing might be if we get in another Stockley during the transfer window then let them battle it out when fit.

As long as it’s not the beginning of a new relegation battle. I’d like to add a winky emoji there.

Hope they can sort him out soon.

I'm gonna gamble on it being an over tight psoas and lack of flexibility in the rectus femoris.

At least that was the cause of my hip pain a few years back, so very unlikely it's the same.

Could be many things including bursitis, tendonitis, IT Band Syndrome amongst other things.

    Not to forget Justabouttobesolditis

That’s not good news. New striker in now please. Stockton or Ikpeazu will do.
  • Oh blooming heck, that’s all we need, hope you’re ok Jayden.

This has the feel of when Darren Bent got injured, we need to get a decent striker in or it’s curtains, a hip injury is not a 5 minute fix.

Well, you say that. But if there is anything wrong with me I go and see a specialist.  You wouldn't want your regular GP performing a TURP on you would you?

  • It sounds like it’s been a long term complaint….& we’re only just sending him to a specialist now because the club can see that this season is now over.

it makes sense to get it done now so he is ready and able to play next season complaint free from August.
  • Here we go again

    1) Minor strain, just needs a couple of weeks rest
    2) A couple of weeks more rest should be fine
    3) Injury not responding to rest. Been given an injection. Operation not needed
    4) 2 months later, operation needed
    5) June - Jayden is now on the grass

Is it legal for medicinal purposes now?
  • A hip injury is not good.  Didn't super Clive have a hip injury at the end of his career?
Ad's impetus to getting another center forward in - pronto.

Stockley and Kirk being out the first team picture is about £1m worth of our forward line that will impact us hard if we don't get the right level replacement/competition in.

He's a palace fan, he's not expected to be the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Also worth mentioning his hip complaint may not stop him playing in future. It may be something that can be managed, like this chaps' injuries:

I know what you mean but it only worked with Chuks because he had outrageous natural ability and strength. You could bring him on for 20 minutes and he’d create a goal all by himself.

It wouldn’t work quite the same with the big Labrador.

Agree entirely. I don't think the (aptly named) big labrador is nearly as effective as the beast that was Chuks. Wonder if we could get him back on a half season loan... :error:

It wouldn’t have shocked me if we did, but he scored the other day didn’t he? Birmingham aren’t in the best of form themselves so I can’t see them loaning us both Chuks and Leko unfortunately.

My labrador has dodgy hips. Common problem with that breed.

If it was a choice between the 2 then it's a no brainer......

Bring in Chuks & send Leko back.

Have there been any further updates to the extent of JS’s hip injury (That sounds like its cool to have an injury 😉) such as the how long he will be out of the game, is surgery required?

It’s a bit of a tricky injury that he has got,” said Jackson. “It is a bit of a nerve issue which is causing him a problem.

“It is a difficult one to get to the bottom of. It’s not quite right at the moment. It’s unlikely he’ll be involved this weekend.

“If there’s any doubt about him I have to protect him. We want to do well and win the game, but the league is the priority.”

Injuries happen....and in reference to the league, the season is pretty much close to being over anyway.
Mid table is much better than league 2. 55-60 points should be enough.

His injury means we will need to change our style of play a little bit and bring in some fresh faces.

The good news is, this injury happened in January. We can get new players in.

It also means no one will make a bid for stockley, and hopefully he will be fresh for us for the start of next season.
