183,000 cases today don’t bode too well for Saturday’s match. Hopefully the clubs have a supply of test kits - unlike some essential workers.0

Just 2 games on in L2. Both finished 0-0
I suspect that segment of EFL on Quest won't take very long6 -
More weekend games starting to be cancelled now, including Ipswich vs Lincoln in L1. It's most unlike Lincoln to cancel games due to Covid

The English Football League has removed the need for clubs to test players for Covid-19 on matchdays in an effort to prevent late postponements.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59830127I imagine they could choose to still test but those results wouldn’t allow a postponement request. It’s not completely illogical.1 -
Norwich off on NYD, will be interesting to see if they can go ahead with the cup game a week later0

As long as 'boro can put out 14 players then the game goes ahead......so I'm assuming they have this number but want to have 7 subs.
If not then have the courage of your convictions & dont play. Then fight the EFL in court if there are repercussions.0 -
If seven of those who started the last game are not available it brings into question the integrity of the competition. Let’s not also forget if you did that in another EFL competition you’d be fined.2

It makes sense that footballer numbers should be going down, as so many teams have had an Omicron outbreak already0

The Premier League has told clubs there will no longer be a requirement for twice-weekly PCR Covid-19 testing.
From Thursday clubs will conduct daily lateral flow tests.
Tests will be carried out the day before matches and on all training days, with PCR tests only taken to confirm a positive lateral flow result.
The change comes following the Government's updated policy to testing and isolation, which places less emphasis on PCR tests.

Everton vs Leicester on Tuesday off, as Leicester don't have enough players0

Leicester seemingly don't have many/any covid cases, their list of missing players is down to a long injury list plus players away at AFCON. They had enough players (including a few kids) to beat a Premier league team 4-1 at the weekend.
However premier league rules state that if they don't have 13 senior outfield players available then the game can be called off. Why on earth aren't they made to play the game with the squad that featured on Saturday?
