Given the makeshift nature of our central defence, I'm not surprised that he turned in a conservative performance and didn't venture forward often Gunter: 6 - did ok. The penalty was a little unfortunate but these things happen. Its award will doubtless encourage Evans to keep getting in the ear of fourth officials - not that the blighter needs any encouragement Pratley: 6.5 - pretty solid in the face of some decent attacking play from Gillingham in the first half Maatsen: 6 - came under a lot of pressure early in the game against Graham, their most dangerous player. Showed his inexperience on a couple of occasions but did alright and will continue to be a big player for us. May deploy him further forward in some games, given Alfie's absence, as we did against Fleetwood Watson: 6 - knits things together but I felt that he was partly responsible for us playing at such a low tempo Morgan: 7.5 - very good throughout. I can't remember the ball 'sticking' to him or Washington in the first half Aneke: 8 - transformed the game, ably assisted by Smyth, who showed great composure to play Chuks in for the equaliser Referee: 3 - he was hopeless and lost control of the game, although I don't feel that his ineptitude ultimately affected the outcome. Stopping the game when a player was off the pitch and allowing their guys to persistently block free kicks in the second half were examples of his ridiculous officiating.
