A brisk 15 minute walk from where we live. It seems that one policeman was killed and one terrorist, as well. At least 15 badly injured. It all happened very close to the Synagogue, but that may be a coincidence, because a big party area, the Bermuda Dreieck (Triangle) is 50 meters from there. All very confused at the moment. Nobody seems to have a clear picture yet. I've never seen so many police cars, vans etc. here.

Ever read one of the religious books? If you do, it/they will explicitly tell you how to be evil and under what conditions being evil is actively encouraged.

Quite often the debate about religious extremism falters because nobody wants to tackle the elephant in the room that is religion itself. Violent extremism isn't of course restricted to religion, take some extreme political ideologies for example that have been responsible for millions of deaths, but there's a common theme about submission to a higher authority taking away any responsibility.
Not to mention the fact that ultra conservative religions are diametrically opposed to the full blown hedonism of modern western society...
