He’s obviously been told by his agent he can get more elsewhere! This is where the game is now all wrong! That shouldn’t be allowed to happen until the club have given Lyle permission to speak to other clubs!!

6 months from end of contract he is allowed to talk to foreign clubs. Glasgow Rangers, being in Scotland, is deemed to be a foreign club.
Perhaps not better but fitter would be a start, Taylor has been very poor (fairly understandable given the time he was out for) since he has come back into the side
If we've withdrawn it, that tells me we believe we can use the money from his sale to buy better and younger.
Younger probably, better I’m not convinced. If there are better strikers out there why aren’t the clubs interested in Taylor going after them instead?
Some teams want established players like Taylor, we are looking for a young player who is going to be the future, Toney, Clarke-Harris, Curtis, Gnanduillet are all younger than Taylor and are all apparently on our radar, if we are willing to listen to offers for Taylor, how much we get for him probably determines how high up Gallen and Bowyer's list we can shop.
Remember you can't just throw money about, it all has to be within FFP, and some teams chasing promotion etc might see Taylor as a quick 18 month fix to get them there
I wouldn't be surprised if we sell Taylor and meet Maddisons buy out clause, which I believe is 2.6m and then get a striker in on loan. Just my guess definitely not itk.
The situation is similar to the last window - Taylor played well enough until his injury. What we need to do is ask for a price around the £4m mark and if somebody bites buy a younger replacement or two. If they don't Taylor will surely keep trying to impress which will be to our benefit. When you look at his career, he does seem to be a bit of a rolling stone.
I imagine there's also an element of making a point to players/agents already at the club (and used to RD's nonsense) that new owners aren't going to be playing silly buggers. If we can't agree terms we won't be held hostage, we move on.
I think Taylor and his agent decided long ago that he was moving on. His injury was no doubt genuine but since coming back he has perhaps understandably not pushed himself and his thigh strain confirms to me anyway that he is protecting himself. I suspect he has had a gentleman’s agreement somewhere for some time. He’s never put down football roots so he is consistent in that anyway.
The real question is who we replace him with. Younger and from lower divisions would be a risk given our precarious League position but strikers don’t come cheap do they. We will find out a lot about ESI over the next few weeks.
Telling that they are saying he's not transfer listed.
So appears they are happy to keep him until the summer if no one offers enough.
Come February they may feel that they can get him to sign another deal with us anyway.
As long as this is all OK with Bowyer then fine. I want to keep Taylor, as he proven at this level and this club but this is a negotiation. It could still go one of three ways IMHO. Sold now, moves on free in summer, signs new deal with us. No idea which it will be.

Probably pissed off a fair few of them too.
good news to see the valley secured. Training ground must have some complications?
At the age he is now and with a young family i can't see that changing.
Hopefully we'll see Bowyer signed up on a contract soon.

It says we either don't have silly money or we're not willing to spend silly money.
I'd imagine that will make negotiations much more realistic.
