It's a way into the media that a lot of these youngsters wouldn't get otherwise. I might not be a fan but at least they're being resourceful.

In a lot of cases it’s just harmless fun, live and let live. However, it really does my head in if I’m stuck behind one and in view of the camera. I pay my money to watch football, I don’t want to be filmed for 90 minutes and then posted on YouTube

That’s pretty much the point I was trying to make in the first place.

I watch a few football vlogs and have been both entertained and educated at times.  Spurs have got some great vloggers.

However, as some of you know, I'm persuing a career in professional photography and I spent a lot of time watch vlogs and tutorials on you tube and these have been bloody brilliant.

I'm actually at the point where I'm beginning to play with film footage rather than just stills and its a huge learning curve but I'm aiming to do a vlog of my trips to LA and Japan in Dec and March and use this as the basis for my own channel on you tube.  Dont expect to make any money from it directly but it will be great to get my personality out there to show prospective clients who could be shooting their wedding and technically, it will increase my SEO exposure with yet another link.  My daughter and I put some footage together of our family holiday to Cornwall and it turned out great so hopefully watch this space.

I dont think the fella behind this derby kid likes them too much.
Yeah, I mentioned this on the other thread. The red haired toothy bloke is really funny. Motionless throughout the whole thing.

The faces on the thumbnails say it all. I actually enjoy watching away fans vlogs at the Valley when we win more then ones from other Charlton fans.

If you watch the half time section of this you'll see a bloke, mid 60's with his Thai wife sitting next to him. He's playing with his phone the whole time he's on screen, no doubt checking out his other Thai brides that he's left back in Thailand!

I actually watched him more than the vlogger. Just assumed he was broken haha.

I imagine it would depend on whether you're sat next to the person doing it and how they go about filming it. If they were constantly filming you and in your space then I can see that being annoying. It's the same principle for gigs; I don't understand why people would want to spend a whole show filming the thing they're meant to be experiencing but ultimately it doesn't affect me. Unless they've got their stupid camera phone held high blocking my view, in which case it's infuriating.

I do enjoy these Vloggs. As I don't go to hardly any away games,
find them very informative. First time that I've looked at away teams
but Derby's were very good. Will looked forward to the ones from
Bristol City and WBA. As quoted above no one is forced to watch them.
To me looks like some very talented youngsters heading for a media career!

I dislike looking up Millie's nose.

    Casual racism is awesome.

100% hate them why can't people just go to the game and enjoy it rather than filming the game and they're self live for the moment. It's because of them I'm starting to fall out of love with football as you now see a hell of a lot of people on their phone. Maybe I'm old(34) but i used to love every min at game with my dad and the people around me but not so much now. On Saturday i count about 10 people filming the game then there self when we scored i just don't get it.

If you're watching the game, instead of them, why does it bother you?

When the bloke behind you has got his trousers round his ankles and pornhub on his phone. Then hope you don’t get it.

I’ve nearly started this thread a few times recently but didn’t want to be seen as an old fuddy duddy. @Croydon’s comments in the post match thread have persuaded me to do it.

I watched Jimmy wotsisname’s Vlogs from the season before last and enjoyed them. His interplay with the lovely Risha was entertaining but it all got a bit egocentric before he packed it in. Lately young Tyler and even younger Millie have stepped into the frame. I have to say I’m halfway between “good on ya kids” and “get a F’kin life” in my reaction now.  Tyler mate, you’re making a good fist of this but please stop picking your zits on air, it’s really yuck!  I enjoy the insights and seeing clips of the game from other perspectives but when these vlogs descend into just being a bloke talking to the phone giving his views (see the Sunderland guy on YouTube) it just leaves me cold. Young Thorgun’s how shall we say, enthusiastic, vlog from Bulgaria was entertaining but I’d been in earshot of him making it I’d have found it incredibly irritating. I reserve the right from my hallowed seat in the west upper to catch some kip when I need to and to concentrate on the game when I’m not gasping for a wee. Some kid constantly prattling into an iPhone within a few yards would be met by a stern glance at best or a flying thermos at worst. I know I’m not the target audience.  Done well these things are helpful and entertaining. Done badly they are self indulgent and a nuisance. Views please.
Jamie Boxall was his name, bit cringey you can't be bothered to remember that, but chose to put the "lovely" in there for his girlfriend's name.

I understand that you may find it irritating and whilst I agree Tyler picking his spots is grim, personally I think he gives a good honest view of the game.

The internet is the future and will be the lives of these kids getting into it. They see that Jamie got a leg up from his vlog to being able to work with the club, why wouldn't they have a go too? If it really itches your nut sack that much to see people trying to make a successful vlog, just focus on the game, like the rest of us.

Get a lot of followers you then get paid to advertise more commonly called influencers
....which used to be known as "snake oil salesmen".
Except the only thing they're pushing is their content and they don't tell you it'll change your life... that's Google (who own YouTube) doing that with many of the BS ads that exist on YouTube.

However that's a matter for another thread.

I dont really get these, but there are piles of equally shit videos on YouTube. Magnet fishing in Hull, $100 mystery box off Ebay and unboxing Samsung S8. They're not informative, funny or thrilling.
    Yet so fricken addictive

Let them be... they are almost certainly making zero money... with less than 2000 subscribers, some, like that bolton girl, is doing it as part of her media degree, and it's obviously a passion project for Tyler and Millie.

Personally living abroad it's great to get a video from within the Covered end, they are actually quite courageous putting themselves out there and opening themselves up to ridicule and judgement, like this thread for example.

It's very clear that teenagers all over the country who are doing this at all of their respected clubs get a lot of negativity, which in itself is kind of character building I suppose.

If you don't like it, don't watch or if you think it can be done better learn the skills and do it yourself.

It's views not subs that make money.

Get a browser called 'Brave' and be free of ads, although unblock 'em on CL so the guys here still get their much needed revenue.

You chose to count people filming, rather than celebrate when we scored? Probably too busy seething at others enjoying themselves to enjoy the game yourself.

Or maybe it was because I wanted to talk to a friend behind me. So sorry I turned around. As well as the idiot next to me waving a phone in front of my face
Don't apologise for your speedy counting skills.

Someone update the thread title please:

Football died a little bit yesterday (VLOGS)
