  • these results might get MS to open his wallet a little further
Im worried that any new players won’t fancy a relegation battle.
  • First Time I'm seriously worried.......Home games against Barnsley,Blackburn & Luton in February,
We need 7 points from those............ But 1 win in 17!!!!!!
  • we just must start scoring goals, and that is stating the obvious .. I don't know what to make about our squad .. why no signings .. I am trying to keep my cool over this .. 3 days and I hope that all is under control
  • Keep calm....it’s all in our own hands, the bottom 3 would all swap places with us. Having watched us play West Brom and Fulham in the last few weeks, have a bit of confidence and grow some
We drew 0-0 against Fulham. A solid point but hardly the sort of performance to send shivers down the spines of our relegation rivals.
  • Last game at the Valley this season... Wigan Athletic

    Ooof, that could be good!!
Last game away at Leeds. In our final game in Championship last time it was away at Leeds. We won 3-1 but were already relegated. Any chance of history repeating itself?
  • It makes me laugh what with needing to win these six pointers in the sense it brings back memories of two other must win six pointers

Charlton Athletic 4-0 West Ham (2007)
    Charlton Athletic 1-2 Barnsley (2014)

Remind me which two teams ultimately went down from those two fixtures?

Barnsley is bloody important on Saturday - Win and its great, lose and its by no means a forgone conclusion!!
  • Completely agree with 'Lincsaddick'-Panic starting to set in!
  • Only got to concentrate on ourselves and ensure we get a win on Saturday.

Yes, the other teams down at the bottom have on paper really tough games, all being away from home at the bigger clubs chasing promotion. But as long as we do our job, the rest will be fine.

Big game on Saturday. I’m sure Bowyer and the boys will be fine and do the job.

  • Half the people on here wouldn’t last 2 minutes under Bowyer. Jacked it in already. We will stay up.

Well we are 21st and we need all our top players fit and finding their A game,
    That includes Lyle Taylor.
How much more did Maddison want ?

  • Our GD might be decent, but ultimately it's points that matter. Huddersfield's GD is 8 worse than ours, but they have 2 more points now
  • First Time I'm seriously worried.......Home games against Barnsley,Blackburn & Luton in February,

    One win in seventeen yes...

Undefeated at the Valley in four - Would be a lot more concerned if those three games were away

Even Blackburn is a bit of a given seeing they're bang in form themselves

Our final game that season was @ home to Burnley - We lost 3-0

We won away @ Leeds the week before (2-1)

Where all the chill merchants tonight ?

Being men and chilling the fuck out.  We'll be fine. Stop panicking.
    Great to hear that.
I was getting a bit concerned after our run of 1 in in 17 games.
How many do you think we need to win out of the last 17 ?

If you're one of our relegation rivals, you're sat there looking at your fixtures, looking at the form tables and you're putting down an away win at the valley

not quite panicking, just can't stop pacing up n down like an expectant father ((:>) .. good job I quit smoking a long time ago

Away form for the bottom four this season:

Luton; three points (they beat Barnsley in August)
Barnsley: six points (beat Millwall | drew with Swansea, West Brom, Wigan)
Wigan: seven points (won at Birmingham | drew with Bristol City | Millwall | Blackburn | Hull)

    Charlton: 10-pts on the road

And as said already: Bristol City | West Brom | Fulham | Hull have all been the last visitors to the Valley of late, none of them have taken three points
  • Injured players back soon , new signings , safety beckons panic not , ignore the last 17 games, that's not us it's just a blip
    Aaaah.....I feel better now :)
  • It’s nights like these where you can’t let bad results stress you out. Focus on what your team can control and think about the bigger picture rather than a couple of bad results.

Tonight’s result don’t change the target of 50 points.

We need 20 points from 19 games. If we get those we’ll be safe.
Remain undefeated at home (Barnsley | Blackburn | Luton | Middlesbrough | QPR | Millwall | Reading | Wigan) and we'll survive!!

Seven wins from that lot alone (its achievable) will get us 21-pts
    Forever
You might as well stick the millwall game in there and say we will win all 8

Thats why I said we could win seven games rather than all eight ;)

And what if we have more injuries and the players breakdown again, as has happened so frequently? Back to relying on the kids that are just not good enough at this level as has been shown by our results these past months.

What if we don’t make any signing or just one which is looking more and more likely.

Sleep walking into a totally avoidable relegation.

Very true which is why I loosely added it in as a side thought
