Leeds have lost two influences in Philips and Costa... Win this though they will only need a point at Derby for promotion presuming Brentford win Saturday.
Oddly I quite like Barnsley to get a point here - I'd rather play a nervous Leeds fighting for promotion than a champagne league winners performance we'd get if they were already up.
You know what, I was sitting here watching it and was thinking the same - Leeds look shite at the moment, but maybe that’s nervousness? If they’ve secured promotion by the time we play them, they might be more relaxed and play with more confidence?
Balls. Now I don’t know what to think!
Ive got a feeling that they think that they've got it sealed already which is why they're a bit too relaxed at the moment
Saw it from Charlton when we won the First Division and played Ipswich on the final day... They thumped us 3-1 because they still had a chance of punching second I think
Sky commentator managed to say the word Derby just then without taking Wayne Rooney at the front!!!! And the picture they used wasn't of Wayne Rooney either!!!
Barnsley look so much better than us, how are they bottom?
Exactly, thankfully over the whole season we had Leko, Taylor and Conor for large parts of it once they started disappearing we have become the worse side in the league with probably the exception of Hull

They're saving them up for Sunday
"Can Wayne Rooney's Derby County stop Leeds getting promotion"

No one knows what Leeds will turn up, main thing is keeping Barnsley clear of us. Lose this and they're virtually down.
Barnsley played like us, plenty of spirit, enough chances, no decent striker to score. How Barnsley did not win that I do not know. I know LB and JJ will be watching, so I hope they do what Barnsley did, except score

I do rate that Woodrow though or is it just because he always seems to score worldies against us! Their average age is 22 and if they don't get snapped up by the big boys they should have a good chance of coming straight back, if as is likely now they're effectively down. Mowatt, Styles, Thomas and Chaplin all good players and wouldn't mind them in our team.
I missed the original foul, did Mowett get a yellow card for knocking the Leeds player off the field?
No don't think so (edit; no card against him on the BBC stats) he seemed to do a rib on the other side to where Mowett gave him an elbow must have been how he fell.
If Leeds beat Derby on Sunday, they’ll wrap up the league title.
Derby by that point *should* have nothing to play for if Cardiff win or draw, or Millwall win. In that reality, I can see them rolling over and consequently Leeds end up a little off the pace when we rock up at Elland Rd.
I know it has been said but if either Hull or Luton win Saturday and we lose to Wigan we will be in bottom three and needing something against Leeds, oh dear

They'd go on to 48-pts along with Wigan, with all three facing equally tough games at the end of the season - If we get a point from Leeds we'd go back above them and potentially Huddersfield
Id agree though thats when we'd finally be in a desperate situation
we went to see the Barnsley away game at the start of the season where they much better than us, and have watched them a few times this season. they are a good side but just can't finish.from what i see and hear they are a well run club that operate within their means. much rather see them stay up than those who aren't

Clubs that operate within their means in the Championship are highly likely to get relegated. Financially it's the worst league of them all when it comes to overspending

But in that situation Leeds being champions already and Charlton only needing a point to survive would they happily play out a 0-0
Helping out Bowyer who their fans love still Relegating a Yorkshire rival in Huddersfield
A little word from Bielsa before the game and 0 shots on target in the match as neither team was able to find the scoring boots
What a great end to the season. The fact that so many teams can still get relegated/promoted/make the play offs with just 2 games of the season left. It really is the best league around. Maybe not in quality but definitely in excitement and drama

But in all honesty it don't matter as long as we beat Wigan

That’s the theory and I’m sticking with it.
