Correct, side footed home Aneke's cross.
  • Is one of our ex-players in their side? Forget who.

What a difference a day makes
    24 little hours
Brought the Aneke and the Wiredu
Where there used to be rain.

Can someone change the thread title as it’s bugging me that there is no space after Charlton and before the dash, I like symmetry.
I agree. No hope of avoiding relegation if we cannot get simple things like that right.

Chuck's linked up well with Taylor which was good.
Not sure about Bonne. Good finish for his goal though.
There was a back pass from Naby to Phillips that bought back some horrendous memories!!

    It certainly was Dinah Washington.
So apt because of the chalk and cheese type of Performances in just 24 hrs.

Fitness and minutes in the legs plus formations and partnerships are so important at this stage. Getting the mentality correct and seeing if youngsters from U23 can step up.

Friendly results mean nothing when you lose and everything when you win !

I learnt that in my first pre season as a Coach/manager in kids football.

LB: So Roland, we’ll sign the Arsenal striker on loan?
RD: I like Wirdeu. He score goals. Yes, play him instead.
That was why we didn't get a striker in the Jan window because RD said Igor will soon be fit, play him. Trouble was Vetokele was always one game away from another injury.

Golfie, as is his want added 2+2 and made 5?
It's one thing drifting into the box and scoring and quite another when you are marked for 90 minutes as a striker,

Heard some on here say the same about the Nabster last season.

The only really successful converted defender into a striker was Malcolm MacDonald 50 years ago !
    (Await loads of other examples)
Despite being born in Fulham, just realized that supermac started his career with Tonbridge angels.

  • Pre season with Wiredu on the pitch: six goals scored, zero goals conceded.

Wiredu is leading our promotion charge this season. CONFIRMED.
Wiredu will be sold before season starts .CONFIRMED. (Roly won't let u down...😥)
  • Lock, Page, Dempsey, Philips, Chuck and Bonne all did well

Wiredu out on loan in the football league would be brilliant for his development

Wiredu is described as a midfielder in his bio on the OS so maybe his appearance at RB last season weren't really in his natural position? His goal scoring certainly suggests he'd be wasted in a defensive role

It'll be interesting who gets loaned out, I imagine it will be right at the end of the window as it will depend on our squad strength in that position.

Scores a few goals against non-league opposition in pre-season friendlies and he jumps ahead of our club captain with 10 years of first team experience and one of our only players that has ever played in the Championship.

    Makes sense.

Like I said yesterday - People should remember James Walker from the pre-season under Dowie (?)

Didnt he score in the friendlies against Hibs | Millwall and some Belgian side (inc. one hat-trick) yet never played for the first team?

Chris Sutton wasn't bad when he was thrown up front.
