Possibly sticking with 3 at the back, with Pearce in the middle of Dijksteel and Purrington. If so Doughty is the left wing back, while JFC, Maloney and Lapslie are the CMs.

Got a good feeling about this season. Already 2-0 up against Welling, think we are going up.

Chances at both ends. Good cross Taylor and good control JFC but keeper smothers his shot at close range.

Welling go down the other end and have a chance but the shot squirms just wide and out for a corner.

Anyone spot players etc in the stands?

Do we know which two players Welling have nominated to punch the ref yet?

Quitirna staying on, JFC won’t get a full half.

Our former player Aaron Barnes is coming on for Welling.

Must be tough for Aaron Barnes, seeing Lookman, Aribo, Konsa get big moves, plus Hanlan and Charles-Cook play League football and Lapslie still involved at Cafc.

That was unusual that so many of that age group "made it"

Second half was a bit of a borefest, you can see from the sides we put out that midfielders are the number one priority

Look at the "Poyet group".  Dillon, Fox, Cousins, Ajayi, Lennon, Harriott, Holmes-Dennis the list goes on.  In fact I think Poyet is the only one that's not a pro!

Surprised that Poyet is still without a gig and hads't asked to train with us. From our point of view he was PotY in this division having played half a season and we no longer have a DMF.

Did any of the youngsters impress enough to get assimilated into 1st team  squad?

Who is this Quiterna (sp) bloke?

Judging on today alone, Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu is the next one off the production line.

Was in Hornchurch’s academy, so a signing from non-league like Odoh, Pope and Aribo.

    Phillips.       charlton

    Osbourne.  Braintree
    Lennon.     Southend
    Cousins.    Stoke
    Fox.           Sheff.  Wednesday
    Gerrard.     Unknown
    Poyet.        Unknown
    Holmes Dennis.   Bristol Rovers
Harriot.      Unattached - Just left Reading
    Azeez.       Newport

    Muldoon.   Chelmsford
    Piggot.      AFC Wimbledon
    Derry.        Tonbridge Angels
    Sho Silver. FC Halifax
    Brown.       Waltham Abbey

8 in league football, likely 9 when Harriot finds a club.  5 semi pro leagues.  Two disappeared, one of which is Poyet.
At that game, Jack Barmby and Poyet were the best players on the pitch, by a long way.  There ten went back to Norway then OGS spent money taking him to Cardiff, where he did nothing. Don't think any of the United players have done much else?

Way to hijacked a thread ha ha

James Wilson is the only other name (apart from Barmby) that I recognise from their squad

He's the Striker who has just left after an very injury hit time
