Our abandoned game with Doncaster in 13/14 lost them 3 points, they were 3-1 up when it was called off. They would not have been relegated if they won this game.
This will be pay back time for them.
They had a man sent off and would have been defending the deep end. We would have won as we had the better swimmers. They got relegated because they were crap all season. There is no payback to be claimed.
Not to mention we finished seven points clear of them
Had they won that day then yes they would have survived but would still have been a point behind us... Nor was it our decision, if they want to blame someone then blame the referee

Yeh but what about Jacko emptying his water bottle on the pitch 😉.

This is my fear plus the harsh disallowed offside goal which stopped Donny winning against us at the keepmoat. I just hope this isn't the biggest anti climax since Sheffield United away FA cup QF(stayed in Chesterfield) and the reunion concert of Kajagoogoo. Hey girl, move a little closer 'Cause you're too shy shy Hush hush, eye to eye Too shy shy...
I digress. Charlton are in the shop window, and maybe some rich benevolent business person (Jim Ratcliffe) will see the potential in this unique south London club and buy Cafc from the Pied Piper of Brussels.

They were down to ten men and on to a hiding in the second half. Eventually losing 2-0 saved them from an even worse goal difference.

Its funny how every fan believes their team will win promotion when in the play-offs. I was in the Doncaster Box Office this afternoon, collecting my tickets (unofficially) but the fans in there were talking to the counter staff about how busy they will be when they are at Wembley. So despite the huge gap in points in the league table and the form guide, the fans all believe. I hope we win as I work in Doncaster, but being cocky doesn't always follow with a happy ending. I think 1-1 and on top similar to the league game.
How come the teams get more time between fixtures this year? We only got 2 rest days between the Shrewsbury fixtures (10th and 13th) but we get 4 this year (12th and 17th).
So here it is, the first leg of the much anticipated Play-Offs. With selling out our away allocation and the run we have been on all makes this even more exciting, even if form does not count for much in what the Play-Offs are often a lottery. However, last year Rotherham were the form team in 2018 who were in the Play-Offs, picking up 40 points since the turn of the year last year (21 games). This time, we are the form team in the Play-Offs since the turn of the year, 44 points in the same number of games. Further to this, Rotherham ended the season scoring 73 goals, as have we. Maybe these stats mean nothing, but there are some minor similarities between the promotion winners of the Play-Offs last season and us this season.
Therefore, moving onto our opponents and what is most definitely our main focus right now, Doncaster Rovers. A team that plays the 4-3-3 formation and have not really moved away from that all season. They play with width and look to get in behind the opposition defence as quickly as possible. Doncaster are not a team who will try to play intricate football in midfield and working the ball, moving the opposition and get into dangerous areas and play it quickly, that is more like us. In fact, they are more direct and will often try to play the ball over the defence and out wide, get crosses in and try to play the ball between full back and centre half. They have a skilful winger on loan from Leeds United in Mallik Wilks. If people assume they are a side who have relied only on Marquis this season, they couldn't be more wrong. Wilks, has scored a very impressive 14 league goals and 8 assists this season, including the equaliser at the Keepmoat back in March. Wilks plays on the right but is left footed and likes to cut in, strong and powerful on the ball and not afraid to shoot from the edge of the box if given half a yard of space, we must be cautious of the threat he holds. Additionally, veteran James Coppinger is a key piece of their puzzle with a very good number of assists this season, 12 in the league. For a 38 years old midfielder, he has played an unbelievable amount of games this season. One who now acts slightly more like a deep lying creative midfielder, we must press Doncaster in the central areas if we are going to stop them from playing and really hurt them higher up the pitch. This is where we could see Aribo really come into his own and show his quality on Sunday.
Form wise, Doncaster's isn't too bad at all, one that has meant they've done enough to get over the line, picking up 16 points from their last 8 - W5 D1 L2. But let's not get carried away with their run of form, good or bad, they've been in and around the top six for the majority of the season. In fact, since February 9th, Doncaster were 6th and did not change their position. Interestingly, their home form is very good. Losing only 3 home games all season and picking up 63% of their total points this season at home. This isn't going to be an easy game, even more so with the occasion too, so we must be prepared and work hard for this, which I have no doubt that we will be.
Regarding us, well what can I say that hasn't been said already? Our form this calendar year has been fantastic with an unbelievable amount of clean sheets to complement the amount of points we have won. So much so, that if we had the form we have had this calendar year, between August and the end of December, we would have been crowned champions. But as I have already pointed out, let's not focus too much on form and past games. This is all about the now and what can we do to ensure we bring a positive result back to The Valley. I think we are likely to see only one change from the team which started against Rochdale last week. The game and occasion could well be too big for Morgan to start, even with his impressive display against Rochdale, Bowyer will know how these games are different. It is one thing doing it against an already safe Rochdale, it is another doing it against a Play-Off rival away from home. Because of this, I fully expect Williams to come in and start. He could be vital for us in the spaces between the Rovers midfield and defence, as long as he doesn't find himself in areas of the pitch where he can't hurt them, his experience of this type of football could really be the difference. Unfortunately, it looks as though Igor Vetokele will miss out of the game on Sunday, and it is important to try to get him ready for the home tie, this time next week. He will be a miss but I was encouraged with the way Parker played last week so for one game, I believe we might have enough, so long as the midfield gets close enough to the front two. Picking the bench right now seems harder than picking the first team, we know who is likely to be on the bench, but we can't be sure whether players like Page, Forster-Caskey and even Marshall, who looks as though due to Vetokele being out, has come in from the wilderness, will make the final 18. I know Pratley isn't the most popular of players amongst our supporters, but for the Play-Offs, his experience, know-how, and leadership qualities are so important, he will make the 18.
I am so excited for what could be a fantastic weekend, one where we could bring home a positive result going into next Friday night. Travelling up tomorrow and staying over in a hotel with my better half, but I wish everyone making the trip up north (or south, depending on where you may live) a safe and rewarding journey. Let's make the most noise away we have all season and give the players that extra yard, and extra bit of confidence that Aribo has spoken about. Let's sing our hearts out and lose our voices. Let's be positive and show everyone how good of a team we really are. Let's do this!

Quietly confident, we are the form team and with the last 3 matches being "dead" rubbers managed to rotate our squad as well. A great bonus that our players will have been able to relax (mentally as well as physically) instead of stressing about the automatics or how to battle into 6th place, but yet have managed to win easily all 3 matches.
The lack of Igor is a blow as it leaves us with no striker on the bench, and instead a glut of midfielders. NO IDEA who will be the 4th midfielder; to me Aribo should be at the top of the diamond instead of Williams, which leave a space for the likes of Morgan, Reeves or Pratley rather than Williams.
Out of curiosity, I am unsure whether Naby Sarr is fasting at the moment due to Ramadan. It wouldn't have impacted him last week as it started Sunday 5th May. But if he is currently fasting, I do wonder how that alters his preparation for these games.
Just thought it was an interesting topic if it is the case.
We've got Joe Aribo - he never gives the ball awayyyyyy. Thanks ForeverAddicted for the previews this season. Just in case you think nobody reads them - I have read every single one. Cheers.
Sunday is Donny's chance. They win by 2, then I'm worried. Win by 1 or draw then I expect Charlton to batter them at the Valley and finally get to the new Wembley.
It would be lovely to see a big victory up there, but I think that is unlikely. They will be up for it and deserve respect.
Can't wait for Sunday either way. Happy days. Despite Roly, Charlton remain the pride of all London.

In the video isnt it Igor that you can see collecting the ball on the left around 0.25secs? (Or is it Marshall)

If not then expect a draw......will be hugely surprised and disappointed if we somehow contrive to lose.
