souchaux were in the top french league i think. this bloke might not work out but at least its 400k and not nearly £4 mill! this is the sort of signing i hoped pards would make and he has yet to disappoint me!
thats a good point. maybe this is why he only got a one year deal, in case we didn't get Yassin. i really think that barring a failed medical, Young will be gone soon and Yassin is his replacement. i'm sure he didn't turn down several teams to get splinters in the ccc.
France however, where this new player comes from, is not part of those isles.
He may have lived in Brittany at one time but that's not the same.
His previous club play in a really crap league.
He is thankfully not a French woman - that comes from the French website which mistakenly put an 'e' at the end of his nationality thus rendering the translation technology to believe him to be female. Have no fear. Curbishley didn't understand Danish very well and made a similar mistake with Rommerdahl but we'll soon be rid of her anyway (to a slightly less crap French team in Brittany perhaps) so things are looking up.
[cite]Posted By: Weegie Addick[/cite]It will take a lot to convince me about Gibbs - whatever inside info Henry seems to have...)
Like actually seeing him kick a ball would be a start.
We paid £550 to sponsor his shirt last year. So now we've got a signed shirt to raffle. Got to talk the boy up so when can re-coup some of our investment. ; - )
I met him at the sponsors dinner and he is a articulate and friendly guy. Got a photo of him with my son so I've sort of adopted him as my fav player. He's off in the States getting fit right now. Who knows if he'll be fit enough or good enough but he had some pedigree before he signed and is still quite young. If, and it is a big if, he can break into the team I hope he does well.
We seen no less of him than Yassin or Dickson so for me he starts with a clean slate and best wishes.
You will be reminded of this post when he is player of the year next May.
However much the Irish might dislike the fact the island of Ireland IS part of the geographic entity of the British Isles, this is totally separate from being part of Great Britain or the United Kingdom.
Its like Canada being part of North America or New Zealand being part of Australasia.
"I must learn English to communicate and integrate with my new teammates, but I am not afraid or nervous," he said of the necessary settling-in period that will ensue.
All his comments were through an interpreter.
Pity Traore, El Kak & Song have gone - but we've still got the Soulman, Magic & Faye to parle vous with him.
[cite]Posted By: Weegie Addick[/cite]Sorry Oggy - I must have misread that- you can't possibly just have said it's a pity Traore has gone? (Whatever the reasoning)
OMG!............did I?
But no worries,Weegie.......now we've got Yassin the Assassin.

He signed a new deal a week or so ago probably expecting to be number one if Luke went.
This guy could go straight in. Pards seems to rate him.

Do you mind? This is a thread about the British Isles.
