Yes, I was confusing him with Joe Ledley, who is a midfielder. We have enough of those, thanks.Aethelstan said:
I thought I read he had been released just before the window. Maybe confusing him with some other Welsh git. They all look the same to me.cafcfan1990 said:

Kyle Taylor, you mean.ricky_otto said:
You just know it will happen. Bloke in front of me on Wednesday kept referring to Sam Field as Sam Fields.DamoNorthStand said:After years of everyone calling Damian Matthew, Damian Matthews.....
Im looking forward to Adam Matthews being called Adam Matthew for his time as a Charlton player
Still only right when we have Lyle Taylors and Dillon Philip is the team.

Your missing my point on what the loan system is being exploited for.Garrymanilow said:Sid James Fan Club said:
Yes he is a very good player, and one who I think will be wanted by quite a few clubs, but this is where the loan market is a farce..... the manager is saying Albie Morgan has to go out on loan to learn and meanwhile Charlton are rumoured to take a player with even less experience just because he’s from Chelsea. They play very similar positions so why develop someone else’s player with zero benefit? #limit the loans!Garrymanilow said:Gallagher would be an excellent signing. He's come on in leaps and bounds in recent years, so hopefully this season will be the one where he show's he can hack it in men's football. He's not got much experience but if played alongside midfielders who can coach him through the game we might get a lot out of himBut it's not zero benefit is it? Albie has a lot to work on and Bowyer evidently feels the Championship isn't the place for him to do it. I would agree; last season Albie started games well and then faded completely out of them by half time. He would be better off getting a loan to L1 or L2 and playing every week as opposed to being dominated in the Championship. If you throw a player in at the wrong level too soon you can kill their confidence. Just look at how long it took Grant to start to look like the player he could be, and it look a L2 loan for him to build that confidence up. Conversely Gallagher is a big strong player who was academy player of the season for a Chelsea team who regularly sweep up in the youth league. These are two players at different stages of development and talent, and the benefit we would get would be having a quality player help us survive in a league that we are currently ill-equipped for.The loan market isn't a farce, it's literally our only hope of survival with our budget. Teams will lend us their high-potential players for free or a portion of their wages in the hopes that our excellent coaching set-up will benefit them. We're definitely not signing another five players permanently so clever use of the loan market is essential. If they limit the loans we're nutsacked.
Have you watched U23 games? They are nothing like first team games. Gallagher also a lot to work on, he has never played a first team game and your now saying is a player Charlton should bring in? Based on what? His first team experience? Have you seen Dempsey or Wiredu both of these players have played and beat him on regular occasions. Your blinded by the fact he plays for Chelsea. He can’t even get in the first team pre season squad. He is one of 40 plus players Chelsea want to farm out and sell to the highest bidder. Chelsea may well regularly seeep up youth leagues, that’s because they sweep up every player in sight for ££££.. Your absolutely right to say they are at different stages in their development only you have them round the wrong way, Albie Morgan has far more experience and it would not be a suprise to see him stay. I have no doubt Gallagher will be a very good player but so will Dempsey Morgan and Wiredu. It’s even more odd that your argument on loans is that you think bringing in another 19 year old with no first team experience will make Charlton better equipped.

Not one of ours but an ex. Sunderland are interested in Morgan Fox

So Transfer Window for League One / League Two closes today
Thoughts on players leaving us today?
Albie Morgan surely off to a League One club - Is the one that interests me the most
Brenden Wiredu hopefully off to a League Two club?
Then do you keep George Lapslie what with his continued appearances on the bench or loan out Forster-Caskey?
Dont really think there is anyone else unless Bowyer has changed his mind over Bonne leaving0 -
Morgan, Wiredu and JFC if the right league clubs come in plus any of the kids below like Dempsey and Dougherty if there was interest.1
-
Forgot about DoughtyAthletico Charlton said:Morgan, Wiredu and JFC if the right league clubs come in plus any of the kids below like Dempsey and Dougherty if there was interest.0 -
#cafc boss Lee Bowyer has decided against loaning out Macauley Bonne. Striker had plenty of interest. Two that could go out before today's deadline are Brendan Wiredu and Alfie Doughty.5

Could be bad... Cawley is saying no one has made a bid for Albie Morgan0
-
I find that quite surprising ... he would do well for a club in Division 1 / 2 ... pity as he needs to play regularlyForeverAddickted said:Could be bad... Cawley is saying no one has made a bid for Albie Morgan7 -
That's ridiculous, surely the L1 sides would have seen Morgan's promise last season?3

They would've seen him get physically overwhelmed and a bit lost during the first 45 mins in the home leg v Donny.ForeverAddickted said:

He was withdrawn at half time, remember.
But nevertheless it's a strange one. There are plenty of match video's available where you can see his impact on Charlton 1st team matches at the back end of last season.
Surprised Karl Robinson hasn't come in for him. He plays 5 in midfield and already knows Morgan's potential.

Very true but think it says a lot about Morgan and his character that Bowyer was able to put him in for those two games - Play-Offs are very different kettle of fish compared to the League season, if a player can almost handle the Play-Offs then for me they should be able to handle most of what the rest of the season can throw at themOggy Red said:

Wonder if the loan deal will happen towards the end of the window when clubs realise they're not going to get a Premier League player in on loan, wont be surprised if some still hope to get Herbie Kane on loan so when that doesnt materialise will move on to lower targets2 -
As the window slams shut at 17:00 today they'd better get a move on!ForeverAddickted said:

Strange about Albie. He didn’t look at all out of place in league one. His defensive weaknesses are balanced by his attacking prowess and he could do well for the right team.0
-
I think I have heard on Talksport that they have to be on the list with the EFL by mid day.0

I guess clubs will be able to piss around with the data sheets again so will have until 7pmkillerandflash said:

Although I guess they dont need as long to complete a loan deal
Next question: If Albie doesnt move to a L1 | L2 team, do we send him to a National League team as Non-League isnt restricted to the transfer window as we've seen with previous loans to that level... Or is that just taking the piss out of him and might as well just stay and work with our own first team on the training pitch?0 -
Well this has just made it less likely... Albie plays today for the U23s @ Sheffield United
He's not even near Sparrows Lane at the moment
Neither Wiredu or Doughty involved though so guess it increases their chances of heading out0 -
Not ideal, but possible if it's a decent NL sideForeverAddickted said:

We want to improve his defensive and physical side, but sending him to a hoofball team wouldn't be good for his development1 -
To me JFC needs a loan, more than anyone else. The kids have time on their side.
JFC will hardly play for us before Xmas, could be a massive player after Christmas though.8 -
Never thought i'd see the day under Roland where we now have so many midfielders that we're desperate for clubs to take 1-2 of them on loan.
A week before the season JFC and Morgan were in the first team. Now not even near the bench.8 -
No one coming in for.a player luke morgan is astonishing0
