It's Lapslie you dickhead.Dazzler21 said:
That's only because they Had Pratley, Lapsley and Morgan in supportElliotCAFC said:
Third place and with seven points more we’d have won the league, probably the strongest league one I’ve seen in a long time as well. Don’t really think that’s scraping through is it.Dazzler21 said:
Really? That midfield scraped us out of a poor League 1. Only taking third on the last day because of results elsewhere (and obvs our own decent win)ElliotCAFC said:
Top 6 Championship midfield easilyMuttleyCAFC said:
To be honest, add Williams to that and it is an obscene midfield for League One!ElliotCAFC said:Lincsaddick said:
saw quite a bit of Kane last season .. I m o, nothing special .. I'd prefer giving Morgan and Lapslie a chance or sixElliotCAFC said:I’d be very surprised if we got Kane - you’d assume he’d link up with his old gaffer at Hull
That’s surprising - he was pretty poor in the play-offs but played quite well against us in the league. It’s hard to stand out when you’re playing against a midfield of Cullen, Aribo and Bielik

Cant believe some of the fees on that list - but as Sam310 said, they sold big too. Funny what you can do when you sell a?player under contract.
Cant see there will be 3 worse teams than us this season. Oh well, 1 year in the Championship it will be then.0 -
Do players have to sign by midday Friday to be able to make the squad for Saturday?0

That money would have come from the sale of Konsa to Villa.The_President said:Cant believe 1) That Jansson has left Leeds for Brentford and 2) Brentford spent 5.5m.0 -

Brentford have what’s known as a business model and owners who are savvy for want of a better word.The_President said:Cant believe 1) That Jansson has left Leeds for Brentford and 2) Brentford spent 5.5m.
They get good prices for their talented players then reinvest to keep the team competitive.2 -

Ironically their business model is similar to Roland's. They do a lot of scouting by stats and video.BR7_addick said:

The difference has been in implementation clearly they have been successful and we haven't,0 -
Wilfred Bonny released and still seems available. Still only 30 but seems to have lost his mojo. Scored 2 goals in a friendly for his Country in July. Worth a pay as you play deal and see what Bows and his team can do?10

Our budget would run out 37 seconds in to the game.28 -

The only place I’ve ever heard of a ‘pay as you play deal’ is on here, is it even a real thingRedrobo said:Wilfred Bonny released and still seems available. So any signing today do we reckon as the season edges closer!!0

We’d be up on the deal though because he’d get injured 16 seconds in.DamoNorthStand said:

My gut feeling is no signings this week. Then they start to become desperate ones!5

It doesn't matter what the spirit is. It won't change anything. let's all hope Bowyer starts to get some good deals over the line.0

Harriet will be the only signing this week IMO2

What happened to that young Chelsea lad on loan? Surely a couple of loans will come in this week

They've already been desperate.
Williams and possible Aneke aside, the business so far is not likely to aid a decent run at the championship. No disrespect to Purrington, Bonne, Lockyer, Amos or Oshilaja, but they are all still to prove themselves at this level and the jury is very much out. I think those five will struggle IMHO.
It's not Bowyer or Gallens fault as they are only doing the best with what is available.
I would guess that they would have preferred upgrades on what they have brought in thus far, if they had the financial clout to do so.
The loans are going to be vital if we are to have a reasonable fist at this division and it's not beyond the realms given the budget that we have, that these may start to become a little desperate.1 -
Mark Marshall and Ben Reeves still available after being released at the end of the season.
They were decent for their last club. Worth a punt? ☺️0 -

Unless it's Williams, Purrington, Cullen or Bielik in which case the same people want them.
