Excuse me for asking but where does it say he’s signed for Rangers?
If he has, I’ve obviously missed the news and apologise ......if not, then isn’t all this speculation somewhat premature?
    I’m confused.
Richard Cawley said it on Twitter.
Cawley said he was going, not that he was gone.

Well, sorry to sound pedantic, but has he actually signed or not?

This whole play for Gerard bollocks play for  2nd fiddle side for a manager who’s earning his stripes
Basically the same situation he was in at Charlton!
Agree but he’s just been promoted Gerard will never win the Scottish premier league - granted the home crowds are big but the away ones aren’t and the quality of football being played is awful apart from Robertson who was the last Celtic or rangers players to go on to be a big premier league player - stay in london you’ve got scouts all buzzing around Scotland - the goals dry up and soon forgotten about.

Reported as done by STV (the Scottish version of ITV) and Cawley, STV saying a medical will take place on Monday before it’s formally announced.

    No not yet.

At best it's safe to say "he's very close to signing", and sources close to us and to Rangers are all reporting this, but who knows in football.

We get a smaller development fee for Joe because it's a cross border move.
I'm fed up that Aribo's gone but somehow slightly pleased that Roland is once again mugged off because he doesn't get how football works at all and his parsimony over contracts has left the club's player assets unprotected.  Moron

True but I don’t think he’d say it unless he expected it to be confirmed very soon.

Exactly......not that I’m suggesting he’s staying with us though.
    But like you say.....who knows.

Sky sports news now confirming he is to have a medical at Rangers within the next 48 hours.
Assuming he passes I reckon he is gone.

  • So was it Aribo who was wanted soooo much that the original newer contract offer  we put to him last year we reduced .
whose decision was that because they are responsible for this , who in the management structure (whatever that may be at Charlton) has allowed this to happen or was Aribo not really rated this time last year .

Me too but officially he's not gone.  Yet.

What have the Romans ever done for us ?

Build a effing long wall. They knew how to stop the raiders.

No issue with this as the money would just go into Roland's pocket anyway

Mmmmmm.......he actually wasn’t that impressive in the early part of last season (2018/19), and wasn’t by any means a nailed on first team selection.

    Good news Blackpool,
In Charlton speak, that means he will still be here next season :)
  • I hope being coached by Gerard hasn’t influenced him too much!!
Apparently Gerard is favourite for the Derby job assuming Lampard goes to Chelsea

If Aribo was my kid I would advise him to leave and go to Rangers.
How could I advise him to stay at our basket case of a club, the owner can’t even work out how to sign our own manager properly, he can’t sell the club because he appears to be one corner flag short of a football pitch, and on top of all that does not reward loyalty.
However if he had sold it to a new owner with ambition then my advice would be different.
The Rat has a lot to answer for....
Good luck Joe and thanks for a fantastic day at Wembley!
Quite right. And not just Joe leaving. It’s an incoming problem too. Why would anyone in their right mind who has other options join us at the moment. Sure thing Lee is a big attraction to work under but he’s only signed for a year and the whole world now knows that we are skint and probably moving forward with Roland still owning us for now. We will be a haven for the needy and the desperate. Nothing more unless Lee can really work his oracle with one season loans from the prem that we don’t have to pay much towards financing. Sure we all love the club and can see exactly what the potential can be, but itinerant footballers who have other options will not give us a passing glance at the moment.

Cmon Joe, take the bull by the horns, blow your agent.

Sign a new 3 year deal, with a 5 million release clause, play your nuts off till Christmas and play you’re natural game.

Clubs will come in for you in January, and you’ll get your big move as people will see you can cut it in the championship.

What happens if he does that but then picks up an early season injury and we end up relegated?
  • If Joe does well at Rangers he'll get his big move - if he can't cut it in the Scottish PL at least he'll have his wages.

Your usual cheerful self I see!

If he can't cut in the Scottish PL then we must have overrated him massively.

From a footballing development perspective i cant see how he will benefit from playing against lesser quality players than he would in the championship. His bank balance and the experience of playing for one of the biggest clubs in Britain  is a different story.

I hope for joe he can now give the first sentence up

If he's there for a season and gets a move then things will have worked out. He'll at least be playing regularly and be learning from Gerard.

If he'd had a similar financial offer in England I doubt he'd have gone.
  • There are only two reasons why English players move to Scottish teams 1) twighlight of their career 2) they just can't make it in the English league. If Aribo was going to Bournemouth, Brighton, Derby or Leeds I would totally get it. That is progress and his game would definitely improve. I find it interesting that none of those teams in that calibre have matched the Rangers offer or if they have and he has chosen Rangers that makes no sense to me.

Thirdly, an acceleration of the bank balance.

    Love it,
I know you convinced JBG to sign a new contract(I was there at Eltham) But that was because he had his wages doubled from 7k to 14k. Since the turn of the century our wages peeked with Darren Bent's Wedge of 40k ? to struggling to give 5k. We are a smaller club since the Hero to Zero character Richard Murray left to be followed by the 3 amigos and now the Helmet.
We have the potential to be a thriving Championship club for the next few years But can't find a money bags from anywhere in the world to take a punt.

  • Another lie by KM, she said we will watch our young players in the Premier League, she never mentioned Scotland  :)
