  • Not a great day for me yesterday other than benefiting from BDD's late tumble with a little on Roksana. Will probable leave out Altior & Tiger Roll today who look very likely winners at short odds.

    1:30 Brewinupastorm
    2:10 Delta Work
2:50 Brio Conti, Killultagh Vic (ew)

    4:50 Lethal Steps, Praeceps (ew)
    5:30 Blue Sari

  • Great stuff @PaddyP17.
Tully East 20/1 and Calie Du Mesnil 25/1 (both 7 places) in the Coral Cup for me.
Mind you, it's such a manic race, it makes the GN look orderly.    :)
    All the best.
Got to have a 3rd interest in the mayem that is the CC and, with stamina at a premium, a nibble of the 50s (7 places) available for bottom-weight Oscar Knight.
  • 14 horses failed to finish that race.
105 - possibly more - have died on this course since 2006.

Edit- People die you know, not just horses... Stick to your own thread rather then bringing up everytime and derailing this thread and others enjoyment of horse racing.

To be fair though, can the one mod who sinks all horse welfare threads pipe up?

That's why there's complaints of a "new thread" every time.

I'd rather there was a thread, and people chose to ignore it, and AK and others can continue to post on it - without it being sunk - so this thread can remain predominantly about the racing.

That said, questions definitely need to be answered about the National Hunt Chase.

Lovely result with City Island in the first. Win dutches done me well in the opening races today and yesterday.
  • Don't know how many are watching them discuss the NHC at the moment but I think AP McCoy is completely in the wrong here.
  • ... Oh. And Matt Chapman saying that's the sort of punditry horse racing has been "dying for". Better choice of words would be appropriate, bloody hell.
  • What was said for those of us who can’t watch between each race?

He's fuming at the decision to ban the jockey of the third-placed horse, Jerrysback, in the final race yesterday.

He looked so, so tired and the 13k prize money was probably very welcome for connections, but... I thought the horse was put at too much risk, and they got away with one yesterday.

I mean, I get his point of view, but we need to make health and safety a priority.

To that end, I think the race conditions need revisiting.

Enjoy watching Cheltenham But hardly ever bet because Bob Munroe,  Denise Coates, and that old feller William Hill are the people with the dosh.

Strange when an odds on favourite with a top Jockey can fall on the last hurdle after running so smooth and  save bookies 50 million, and in today's first race the favourite loses a shoe !

Another female favourite yesterday didn't run well because she may have been in season !

    It's a funny old game.

  • Delta Work squeezed out over the last fence while Drovers Lane didn’t have enough to last the distance. Never mind!
