  • Alpha is a good film for dog lovers. I think it is available on Sky Store.

I can't remember the name of the film but the one where a hitman (for some reason I remember it being David Bowie) shoots a dog is a good film for dog haters.

John Wick ? He’s a hitman whose dog is killed but he doesn’t shoot a dog and David Bowie definitely isn’t in it ? Other than that a can’t think of what film you are thinking about.
  • I watched 'Scrooged' last night, the film starring Bill Murray. Admittedly, I was half-asleep, but that has to be the worst Christmas film I have ever seen. I kept waiting for it to improve and then the end credits rolled. Only one and a half chuckles in 110 minutes.

The scene in Jaws where the head pops out from the boat still scares the life out of me.

Mate, my dad would tell you I watched Jaws in about 1979 4 years old and I was cross legged on the floor and the floating head emerged and I jumped vertically up from the floor on my arse. That scared me for about 10 years and I’m still at 34 years old sh*tvscared of the sea from that film
So you were 4 in 1979 and you’re now 34? Don’t get a job in a bank mate.
    34 is the new 27.

I watched Love Actually for the first time this week and couldn’t believe what a mess of a film it was . How is this rated to highly??? It’s bloody awful
  • Must say I have not been overly impressed with the offerings so far. I guess we are not quite into the Christmas schedule as of yet.

As for Love Actually, well words just cannot explain! An exercise is egos and back slapping amongst the luvvie fraternity/maternity. I don't know about bankers but that lot would be first up against the wall!

Sorry to possibly pre-empt you Beds, but I'm so glad Muppet Christmas Carol is on on Christmas Day - it's brilliant and a tradition to watch it on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

It's been the worst build up to Christmas for TV that I can remember. It will definitely get better as from this weekend.

Don’t worry . That will be on the list . It’s one of my favourite Christmas movies too.
  • The Witch is very good, assuming it's the one that came out last year.

Just shows different tastes ... I really enjoyed it.
  • Hell or high water is excellent! Uncle Buck though...

I loved it . It was my favourite film of 2016
  • Of course, I can see why people would like it. It got a lot of praise, I guess I was just expecting more.
  • Kingpin, some classic humour there.

    {kicked in the balls and doubled up in agony}

"You have a very wide foot, you got both of them!"

It’s late ‘70s or early ‘80s and I remember a lift door opens, the dog yaps and the bloke shoots it. May have had Martin Short in it.

I love Scrooge, my favourite Christmas film. We’re of to see the new Mary Poppins film this afternoon and will be back just in time for it.
  • Up is totally superb.

    Quadropenia still a good watch.

Quadrophonia is a classic that had a big affect on me as a teenager . It does look a little dated now though .

Does this happen in Inner Space? I think the crazy bad guy chasing him shoots a kids balloon with his finger so maybe shoots a dog too?

    Can’t see a dog getting shot .
  • Uncle Buck is as corny as they come.
    But I love it.
The scene when he is loading the washing machine and orders it to take his mighty load when the woman outside is listening makes me laugh every time.
  • There is not one film worth watching for whole Christmas period
