If Morgan's 5th it must be keeping the ball on the pitch (sorry Albie). Actually the bigger issue I have is that he "floats" the corner so it makes it difficult to get power on headers.
Hearing conflicting things from last night.
Some saying he was struggling to reach the level needed and others saying he created our best chance of the game?
I’m always interested to hear more opinions about our youth products... especially as the academy seems to have been the only major bright spot in our recent history.
Played 2 or 3 incisive passes including the one you mention. As I said elsewhere best vision in a Charlton creative player since Shelvey on what I've seen from him so far.
Also kept up with Grant when we broke out following a corner to offer him another option besides Taylor so a bit of pace about him too.
On the downside he missed some tackles, possibly / probably, because he was worrying about his booking, misplaced the odd pass (standard for a creative player I'm told) and his deadballs were not as good as in his first appearance.
The boy is still a teenager. A mixture of good and bad is par for the course for a youngster.
If he was the finished article he wouldn't be playing for a shitty little league 1 club being decimated by an insane
Albie has little confidence that his team mates are alert enough or attentive enough to suss out the modern style of signalling which corner it will be, like a subtle earlobe pull, or jockstrap adjustment. Albie flings one or two hands (with arms attached) right up in the air several times for longish periods so as to be sure the other guys see the signal.
That stat is surely partly a function of how many headers are won which with Stockley and Innis to aim at we should win a fair few.
Morgan’s set pieces, a bit like him in general, have been unfairly maligned in my opinion. I think his delivery is mostly decent and the ball he put in for Stockley at MK Dons was an example of an absolute peach. Corners in particular have a low success rate in terms of leading to goals across football in general. I think a lot of fans imagine other teams score from them all the time but that is not the case. In fact, in the last few seasons, I think we’ve tended to be one of the more successful teams in terms of scoring from corners.
I hope Albie plays today. I think there’s something there for him to build on with his good performance vs Crewe. Now we have pace, movement, and guile in that attacking 3 in midfield, I think Albie can really come into his own in that deeper role as he’ll actually have something to work with in terms of picking someone out runners with his vision and passing.
It seems his card is marked for some fans but I’m still confident he’s going to come good. His fitness is improving and his all round game has improved (Bows was right to push him to improve defensively). He just needs to rediscover a bit of what made him so great when he first burst into the team. Personally I have seen signs he’s doing this.
I see an ability in him that none of our other players have, but I want to see him hone the rest of his skills with us.
It's becoming more and more obvious that it's just not going to happen here at least not whilst he's starting every game as the bad habits are creeping back each time.
Was he any worse than Watson or the others around him.
Problem was he and Watson had no others around them.
They worked well in a 4-4-2 against Crewe, but (it was against Crewe) you need at least one of the three in front in a 4-2-3-1 to pitch in and support defensively, especially when you're playing a team in a 3-4-2-1. At times the wingers and Lee left them with 6 to contend with at times.

I wouldn't single him out based just on today as there were many others who were just as bad, but definitely overall considering today and the other 5 games before that. Has he played well in any game this season?
He started the season badly (in my opinion) with 2 horrible efforts against Sheff Weds when he should've at the very least tested the keeper, and hasn't really got any better since. He isn't good enough right now for the level we need to be at.
Just has sent good enough. He looks busy chasing lost causes at times, but ultimately has very limited impact in any game I've seen him play. Fully agree our midfield looks weak currently, but Morgan is part of the problem. His free kicks/corners are woeful. Needs a spell on the sidelines alongside Watson.

What is it you see in him? The only time he’s looked decent is when he played with Bielik, Cullen & Aribo. I could have looked good playing with them 3.
AM Took to Insta about hour ago to say how proud he is of Zemura scoring for Bournemouth today. Appreciate that's really sweet and all that, but come on, have some of these players not got a filter ffs

Not bothered by that.
2 goals from LB is impressive, we released him in 2019...

Really brave of him to do that after a defeat.
Doesnt mean that he should go home and sit at the wall to think about his performance
But more the fact that a lot of people will be upset and that'll just fuel their displeasure
And let’s be honest he probably never will be. Not like he has just come in to the side and needs to adapt. He doesn’t keep things simple, always trying a Hollywood ball - that’s alright when you are showboating and 4-0 up not 2 down to Cheltenham.
