  • On the Welsh border for a few days.

Just played Llanymynech golf club. Apparently the only golf club in Europe that crosses a border between 2 countries.

The 4th hole you tee off in Wales and putt in England.
Then you play 5 and 6 in England before reentering Wales for 7 onwards.

Beautiful views, tough course, very narrow off the tees and almost every hole is a blind tee shot owing to elevation changes.
Thank god we treated ourselves to buggies cos I’d have keeled over after 6 otherwise.

Definitely one of those courses were local knowledge and just knowing where to hit could knock half a dozen shots off the scorecard.
  • Just signed up for a trip to Belek in October. 5 nights 5 rounds. Can’t wait. Heard such good things!!

Played it about 25 years ago. Bugger of a par 3 over a ravine - must have scored at least a 6 there as I put at least one ball in the ravine !!
