His attention seeking is getting extremely boring .
I find it quite funny to be honest, how grown men can get so bothered and wound up over footballers they don't know posting stuff online.
If he stays great, but if he goes then so be it. No player is bigger than the club.
You could say that about anything though can't you? The take over, LT, Bow's "strange" comment. Change the word bothered to interested and it makes a bit more sense
Love how people are jumping to judge him, is it at all possible he was listening to music and posted the picture not even paying attention really to the connection between the song that was on in the background and Charlton fans guessing it means he is leaving .
I posted on here earlier whilst listening to Flying without Wings but it doesnt mean I was jumping off buildings without wings
Ok i wasnt listening to that song really but you get my point, it was just a song he was listening to whilst he posted a picture
Dont you usually judge Tony Watt pretty quickly when he posts something on social media?
Also, he had to deliberately select the song he is listening to and post with the photo, it was not a accident ha.
I don't get angry about it, I just think he enjoys the attention a little too much but hope he stays. Top player.

Top player no doubt, would prefer he stays, but if he wants to go so be it, perhaps it's me getting old but all this social media bollocks does my head in. The more he posts the more he will get dogs abuse from a very small minority, Addicks fans & others, all clubs have them as does society in general.
If Lyle is saying that he's never even been offered a new contract, then I believe him. Like anyone else, he wants to feel wanted and valued as an employee and a person. He is an incredibly valuable part of the squad, for his presence, almost more important than his goals. He is passionate and I feel his swagger is a front. It's Roland's fault that Lyle is in this mess, not Lee's, Steve's or Lyle's. Lyle would have signed already if Roland had ordered a fair contact. Lyle is probably taking Lee's lead on how to handle the tight fisted git.
Can you imagine the mood in the squad right now of the takeover wasn't, didn't happen?
Social media at its worst. Taylor being cryptic and playing a game, grown men getting knickers in a twist for no real reason - same with the Instagram nonsense yesterday. Taylor shouldn’t really get involved, but I think it’s funny that people get so worked up about it.
If the bloke goes, he goes - and we will get replaced. Just like, Hales, Mendonca, Bent, Kermorgant etc, etc. It’s all a bit tedious really.
For the record I want him to stay and think we should pay him what he is worth. But if at 30 he feels he can’t get a decent pay day elsewhere then good luck to him. Think we often forget that he doesn’t support Charlton, it’s just a job to him. Of course we want a bit of loyalty, but he is in the same boat as Bowyer, Gallen, Aribo and Grant last year, and any other player whose contract has 6 months to run.
Will go down as a bit of a favourite of mine but I think maybe it is time to go, particularly if his head has been turned. He was part of a fantastic ride and replacing him will be hard.
But I’m sure Gallen has been on the case for months.
That said, if he’s committed, signs a new contract and comes back all guns blazing then staying would be fine by me.
Only Lyle and Bowyer know what option is best.
Agree that the social media stuff is getting a bit tiresome. Great bloke though.
Seen him linked with both West Brom and Rangers today.
For what it’s worth - he follows Rangers on social media now. That could be because there is genuine interest, or again, he is being a massive attention seeker. Who knows.
Lyle Taylor was the Catalyst for our promotion, the reason Grant improved by 70% in the 5 months they played in tandem. Lyle Taylor galvanized the Cafc crowd who realised they not only had a 20 plus goalscorer but the best assists stats as well. Without a top striker it doesn't matter if you play 40 passes from the rest of the team if the ball doesn't end up in the back of the net. Williams when fit is tremendous and this season started to rack up the assists BUT he hasn't scored a goal for Cafc. If Lyle Taylor hasn't been told already by the new owners in waiting that there is a new 20k a week plus win/assist bonus waiting to be signed then it will be a bigger own goal than occured at Wembley in our play off final.
Hopefully Steve Gallen made this clear in his chats with Matt Southall, so he could reassure Lyle that financial security was coming his way at the valley.
Lyle Taylor is opinionated and speaks his mind and text his thoughts in a clear way or sometimes in riddles. Because it's egalitarian and any one can say inane or offensive views direct to the famous, this becomes a bear pit of compliments and insults.
No one is bigger than the club but some are missed big time when they leave.
This guy puts it on the line every time he plays for us , he’s a better defender than half our defence and has been such an integral part of our recovery under Bowyer , I love him .
i don’t care if he winds our sensitive fans up all the time as long as he’s doing the biz for us .
having met him a couple of times I’ll take him as I see him and he was a nice guy .
he is at the end of his career and will get one last decent contract , I’m happy for him whatever he does , I just hope we offer him the deal he deserves because we’ll be the losers if he ends up else where .
I don't get all this about Lyle being at the end of his career. Yann continued playing effectively at champ level till 37. Jermaine Defoe is 37. Jamie Vardy turns 33 in January. Lyle's game is more about strength than pace - I'd say he's probably got a good 5/6 more seasons in him. No brainer to sign him up on a decent three year contract. Any replacement will cost more upfront, probably more in salary and be much more of a risk.

Yep, you're right it's not the end of his career .
He has one decent contract left to get as in length of time and money , i reckon, then they'll be shorter term after that
I saw bits on twitter, god this gets OTT even people on here getting grumpy.
I take it all with a pinch of salt until anything happens, life is too short to get worked up about whether a footballer is leaving or not. I hope he stays as per but if he leaves onto the next, that's life.
Same with all the takeover stuff which has gone on for years, I've never really invested in it just wait and see and cheer when it does Each to their own and yes I do follow Lyle on Twitter so I know he reacts to people and probably doesn't help himself.

Perhaps he's still in touch with Joe Aribo, who's been chatting about him to his manager about what Lyle could bring to their team.
Big club, big match atmosphere, big wages,...... he's only got to score goals regularly and he instantly becomes a big name, a cult hero even, playing in front of crowds of almost 50,000.
He gets the money and the adulation he craves. No brainer for him.
If there’s no announcement by 1st of Jan about him signing a new contract then imo I think he’s off, I’m sure they’ve made him an offer but cant complete it until the takeovers completed.
Hope I’m completely off the mark, at least Lyles not offering false promises of staying.
Lyles outspoken on and off the pitch, and has certainly got his own mind, which is a good thing I think, but not everyone’s cup of tea, if I was his agent I’d be paying someone to look after his social media stuff,or delete his accounts, I’m not sure it does him or the club a lot of favours, and becomes an unnecessary distraction.
I really don’t think he’s been offered a new contract yet. It won’t happen under Duchatelet and the new guys can’t until the takeover is confirmed. There may have been some preliminary talks with his agent to gauge his likely demands against expected budget.

Honestly the way he's acted recently with all these cryptic and moany tweets etc. I've just about had enough.
Yes he's been a great player for us but no player is bigger than the club, he can fuck off now to be honest. We'll always find another fan favourite.

Judge him on what he does on the pitch, this is a football club.
Hope he stays.
