I was thinking more man united away when we stoped in that country pub in Macasfield when the landlord thought he had it it right off when we arrived with a wad full of twenties. Only the twenties were worthless :-)
Dhesi and meself weren't close mates, mainly cos of the age difference and him being from the "older lot" but, coming from the same area, we all knew each other really well through older brotber etc. and sort of merged into one once we graduated to using the pubs at 15 or 16, so I regard him, his brother Seetle (a couple of great stag dos had in Witley Bay with Seet), Robbo on the wing and some of the other posters on this thread (cazo - boogica - DA9 - there are more) as friends, even though I've not seen most of you for a very long time (downside to living abroad I spose).
I think the first thing that comes to my mind regarding Dhesi, is the lift I'd get, walking into the boozer and seeing he was allowed out ; ) , thinking to meself "oh good, looks like Dhesi's out for a few". Whether it was for a Friday evening session after work, or a Sunday alldayer, I always felt good to be there, in his company and involved.
When I was told yesterday of his passing and also reading Robbo's tribute this morning, it hit me, good people do get stored in places in your mind and although the people may go, the good memories of them will always stay.
When I bought the flat above your brother in Lansdowne Lane, Ben said I had to come down to the Oak on a non match day to get to know the real regulars. Which of course I did. I Got to know a great group of people which included Digger and Sarah. Such good memories.
Then Ian came in to my life and of course he knew Digger and Potter from years back following our team. Those times in the Oak were such good times, the Dhesi’s being a massive part of that.
Always very sad to read of the passing of one of our own. From the tributes paid Dhesi sounds like he was a terrific character and good friend to many and I hope his friends and family can take some comfort from the words expressed at this sad time.
Such sad news about a lovely, lovely man. Digger, as I knew him, always had an infectious laugh and a ready smile and was a really straight up guy. He will be missed terribly by all who knew him I'm sure.
My thoughts are with all the family at such devastating news.
Fabulous tribute to our rough diamond by our other brother Potter. Nothing will replace the void we are all feeling right now but reading all your comments makes us so proud of our handsome brother. Our lives will never be the same and the devastation is beyond words. Thank you all for your lovely words it’s nice to hear at this horrible time x Seetle and Sukie x

I appreciate that some may come from overseas, so as a heads up, the funeral will be on Tuesday 03 July. Will update regarding times, location, etc. God bless you all.
Sukie, Dhes' sister has set up a Just Giving page and is doing a run with a couple of her friends to raise money for AMMF, the UK's only Cholangiocarcinoma charity.

As for dress attire Tuesday, no real reason to dust of your black funeral clothes.
I certainly won't be.
